*Two places were set at the end of the table, one at the head and one just to its right. Raoul currently occupied the head of the table, reading a newspaper and chewing on a piece of bacon. There were dishes on the sideboard full of said bacon and toast, as well as butter and jam and a clutch of hard-boiled eggs. Tea and Coffee sat steaming in pots.*

*Johanna stepped into the room a bit shyly*
"Good morning."

"Very well. Thank you."
Especially after I heard what you said last night!
"I still can't thank you enough for all of this."

"Well I'm glad to help."
*He coughed.*
"Coffee or tea? Or if you want something else like hot chocolat Louise can get it for you."

"Hot chocolate would be wonderful."
*She blushed, not really sure why*
"Do you live here by yourself?"

*He rang the bell for Louise and informed her that Mademoiselle would like hot chocolate. Then he sat back down.*
"I didn't use to. This used to be the family town residence, but then my father died, my sister got married, and my brother's always off somewhere... I'm just the only one who's ever here. My mother lives in Monte Carlo part of the year and a small chateau in the South the rest."

"Is it lonely for you here?"

*He smiled a little sadly.*
"Sometimes, yes. I do get lonely."
*He had his group of friends, but none of them were very close, and he hardly ever had visitors.* "It's nice to have someone else in the house."

*A bit nervous, Johanna took his hand*
"I never had many visitors."

"Back when I lived with my guardian, he didn't really like me going outside. He said the world was full of evils that I should be shielded from. I never really got the hang of talking to people."

"... not even to the park for a little fresh air?"
*Raoul had always loved running around outside as a child. He'd loved the summers at the chateau, climbing trees and riding and boating on the river.*
