((Sorry for the late response, things have been crazy at work today.))
*Wild still hesitated.*
"What about Marie? We can't leave her here all alone."

*Wild brightened up by the sight of Marie. She wrapped her arms around the little girl and hugged her gently, as a mother would.*
"Of course you're coming with us, sweetie. You didn't think I would leave you here, did you?"

"Tha's roight" she smiled and hugged Wild back.
"Marie do me a favor and go find Monsieur DeHuber and tell him that you and I are going to take Wild here out to find our friend, we won't be long" Marie nodded and jumped off of Wild's lap and ran upstairs.
"You did not meet Monsieur DeHuber, he helps me out around here, but is very sick" Marie returned almost instantaneously, her fathers coat and shoes in one hand and her coat and shoes in the other.
"Mista DeHuba says all roigh' as long as 'e don' hafta leaf 'is bed" she sat down and handed her father the clothes and began putting her own shoes on.

*Wild's beautiful face was concerned when she heard about Monsiur DeHuber's disease.*
"I'm sorry to hear that, John. What's wrong with him?"

"A tumor" he said softly "in his brain, the doctors could do nothing for him sadly. But he's come to terms with it, he's a stubborn old man and is holding on as long as he can. He's lived a good life, god has chosen him to go now and he says that there is nothing to stop that."
He pulled on his boots and tied them tightly "Are we ready here?" Marie nodded enthusiastically and jumped up.

*Wild suddenly felt a strong power streaming throught her body. It started with the compassion she felt in her heart, and streamed up to the top of her head and down to the tips of her toes. She straightened her back and spoke to John, calmly, but with a new authority she had never shown before. She suddenly knew what she had to do. Her own problems didn't seem so important anymore.*
"John. I want to meet him. Please."
*She looked John calmly in the eyes.* '

John set a firm hand on her shoulder "Wild-" he started "-as much as I'd love to see Monsieur DeHuber living for a very long time, it is his time. Do not take away the calmness that he's found now, in his final days."
He looked her deeply in the eyes "But I will take you to him." John lead Wild to Monsieur DeHuber's room and knocked "Monsieur?"
"What is it John, I thought you were leaving?" A very clear voice came from the other side of the door "Or was little Marie playing a trick on me?" Marie humphed behind John "O'I was not!" John shook his head and opened the door "Monsieur, I want you to meet Wild, she want's to help-"
Monsieur DeHuber raised his hand "Come here child."

*Wild came over to Monsiur DeHuber's side and took his hand.*
"Hello Monsiur DeHuber. I'm Wild. I was told about your problems."

He smiled and held her hand touching the top of it with his "Amras tried to help me too chère," he said with a laugh "tried to bring in an elven healer, such as yourself, that he had met many years ago, he lived not far from here. I said why not, could not hurt to try. The man was grade A, wonderful, but he couldn't help, the cancer has traveled in to every one of my organs, chère I will be dead very soon and I do not mind."

*Wild smiled back to him. She felt the powers grow inside her. They were now as strong as during the fight against The Enforcer in the forest, but this time they were strong in a good way. She turned her head to him, already on the brink of falling into a trance.*
"Let me at least try, monsieur. What can you lose by trying?"
*A strong aura surrounded her, making her glow.*

*Wild sighed. It was his wish, and she had to respect it. She turned to him again.*
"Well, at least... when your time has finally come, will you allow me to guide you safely across the border to the land of the dead, making sure you meet again all the persons you have loved in your life?"

Monsieur DeHuber smiled "If you must."

*Wild smiled warmly.*
"I must. But not yet. Your time has not come just yet. But when it's time, I will be here by your side, making sure your death is a calm and peaceful one. I will protect you from pain and fear when the darkness surrounds you."
