((Well, addition. And I had to look up a date in the comic too! Aren't you proud? :3 ))
*Lucien shook his head to clear it, then looked up to watch Armand move away. What sort of life had he had, that he would automatically assume that he would lie, instead of simply asking him questions that Lucien would have answered honestly?*
"What need would I have to lie?" *he countered.* "I don't have anything against you- I would have told you everything you just extracted from my mind."

Armand blinked at him, slowly, calmly, his face unreadable.
"Why is your coven odd?" he asked, and dismissed Lucien's counterremark as another untruth, or at least as something not to be considered at the moment.

*He considered the question for a moment.*
"Er, well, they're all based off Anne Rice stock characters with the dial turned up to eleven. Yeah. Think about it. Well, the all take vampirism very... seriously. They're very cryptic and have taken on names like 'Count Bloodfang.'"
*He looked a bit embarrassed.*
"They grow on you," *he said by way of explanation.*

Armand blinked at Lucien, his face going softer in surprise. "Count...Bloodfang?" he asked, and then wished he hadn't. He'd never...the other vampires certainly didn't grow on him. If anything, as far as he could tell, vampires couldn't stand each other's company, for the most part. The ironic thing was, neither could they stand to be alone.
If there was anything good Armand could say about the vampires of the Theatre, it was that they were convenient. To hear another vampire talk about his coven like that, with such hapless, vague affection, even in embarassment, was unusual. And fascinating.

"He's a bit eccentric," *Lucien admitted.*
*He watched the other vampire's expression with interest- as if something other than his coven's eccentricities mystified him. This was perplexing- to Lucien, the coven was like a family. One made up entirely of The One Embarrassing Member No One Mentions Anymore.*
"Don't you have something of the sort?

"Ah."
*Lucien considered inviting him to the Cathedrale Noire, but he certainly didn't trust the older vampire. Besides, he got the feeling that he would think the sign reading Pierre's Garlic Emporium out front was idiotic.*
"What a shame."

"Yes." Short, concise, monotone- no real regret or disappointment. Armand could not quite wrap his mind around the notion. If it was only for a few years then yes, perhaps, maybe it could happen, but if Lucien had truly been with the coven that long...it seemed ridiculous, and improbable. Armand had only ever attempted to play happy families once, and it hadn't lasted. If Marius hadn't been able to keep them together for even a few years, just himself and Armand and the mortal apprentices, then Armand couldn't see how anyone else could last much longer.
No. Twice. But Daniel was not here now, was he?
"Lucien," Armand said, something else occuring to him. "Are you aware of any others besides your coven?"

"There are a quite a few, yes," *Lucien said as if there was nothing even slightly odd about this.*

*Lucien opened his mouth to answer, but then narrowed his eyes at Armand.*
"May I ask why you want to know?"

Armand smiled, ever so slightly. "You're an honest vampire," he said. "I thought you would tell me."

"But I have reason to believe that you're not- how am I to know what you'd do with the names?" *he countered, crossing his arms.*

Armand's smile widened. "What do you think i could do with those names? I haven't the power to cast curses across the wind with them- please, save your accusations. I'm only curious."

*Lucien shrugged.*
"Very well. I don't know many by name. I've been away for a few years and the population's nearly tripled in that time. There's a castle, there-" *he gestured to it.* "Graf von Krolock- from Romania- lives there, with his son, Herbert. They have a ball every year, inviting vampires from all over the city and beyond. If you're looking for someone, you should try there. It's in less than two weeks."
