*Malefica laughed and looked up at him.*
"Well, look at you. You don't seem to be afraid of the water at all. How about Momma trying to teach you how to swim?"
*She lifted up Gawain and carried him to a place where the water was not so deep. She placed him on his back in the water, and held his body gently. This way he could float on his back without getting his head under water. It was very important not to frighten him now.*

*Malefica smiled and turned him around gently. This time she was holding her hand gently under his little tummy, supporting his weigth to prevent him from sinking.*
"Ah, you prefer to learn to swim on your stomach first? That's fine with me. Either way, we'll soon have you swim like a little fish."

*Gawain squealed happily. Splashing the water was much easier this direction and he did so merrily, promptly flailing water all over both of them. There was a pause, and then he let out a great choking cry.*

*Malefica lifted him up, holding him forward to easier clear his lunges. She carefully patted his tiny back, hoping it would get out the water from his lungs.*
"Awwww, my poor little baby. Momma will help you to get rid of that nasty water."

*Malefica cradled Gawain in her arms and rocked him gently, trying to comfort him while she hugged him and kissed him. She spoke to him, gently.*
"Aaaaaaw. Momma's poor little boy. Momma is here for you, darling."
*She was worried that he might be afraid of water, so to try to avoid any phobias in the future, she laid herself on the back in the water again. With him on top of her, she started swimming.*

*Malefica smiled warmly when she saw her baby relaxed. She swam gently toward land again. She went back on land, and laid down on the blanket to dry in the sun. She allowed her baby to rest on top of her, holding her arms protectively around him.*

*Malefica was laying still in the sand, resting with her son. As a Guardian she didn't need much sleep. She was used to always be on her guard. While she held her son in her arms and watched him nap, she was thinking of Icarus. She wondered slightly what he was doing right now, and why he hadn't responded to the thought she sent him.
She was thinking of their daughter Eden. Her sweet adorable child with the big, blue eyes and all her questions. And she missed them so much that she could cry. But she couldn't go back now. Not after all that had happened.*
