((lol! Reasonably sane. >>))
*She sighed quietly.*
"Yes," *she answered unblinkingly.*

Crane prepared a syringe.
"This may hurt a bit."

*She remained stoic: pain had long since been a novel sensation.*

With that, Crane injected the drug.
Now for the fun...

*The effect wasn't immediate, leaving a few seconds for her to question the effectiveness of the drug. But once those seconds had passed, she was gripping the arm of her chair until her knuckles were white and her nails were digging into the old, splintering wood.
At first, it felt just like the effects of adrenaline: her heart raced and breathing quickened, a feeling that she was all to familiar with. Then came the tremors in her hands and a strange choking feeling like she wasn't getting enough air. A splitting headache started in the middle of her forehead and quickly spread everywhere. The image before her warped into a bizarre puddle of colors as a million thoughts raced through her mind, none of which made sense to her. Sweat beaded on her brow and dampened the palm of her hands as she tried her hardest to stifle screams that rose into her throat.
Then, as quickly as all of it had happened, the effects disappeared... only to be replaced by a haze of fatigue and confusion. She collapsed back into her chair, still breathing heavily. Her eyes were open yet empty and distant just like her mind behind them. It was as if the room she was in was devoid of the world beyond its walls.
But it was peaceful... and she didn't want to leave.*

*More images flashed through her mind. Bits and pieces. Nothing made sense.*
"I... I can't..." *she stammered.*
*A picture of a bar, vivid and colorful, appeared for a moment then was gone.*
"But I see a bar," *she said, her voice filled with confusion.* "Somewhere downtown..."
