Lyra shook her head.
"Not yet," she said. "You can go."

Wolf gave a little woof and then bounded off to the bathroom. It really was the possibility of fleas that scared him if he didn't take a shower.

**NEW DAY**
Lyra traipsed into the inn as if she owned it, leading Susan, with Pan mouse-shaped on her shoulder.
"If he's not out, he'll be upstairs," she guessed.

*Susan followed, wondering if there were any place she might rest in this inn. It looked clean and comfortable, and now that her belly was full and her purse much lighter, she suddenly had a great desire to sleep a dreamless sleep.*

Wolf had spent the day wandering the inn and sliding down any rails he could find.
Of course there had been nothing when he hit the bottom, so he always left dissapointed.
This time however he stopped and was face to face with Lyra he gave a little yelp and picked her up, spinning her around before setting her down with a grin.

Lyra scowled at him at the manhandling, but she was secretly pleased that someone was pleased to see her. No one ever was.
"Hi!" she said brightly. "I found this girl outside. Her name is Susan, and she used to be a queen, and she's going to take me back to her world when she goes."

Wolf turned to Susan with a deep bow "Your majesty" he smiled and suddenly looked quite excited "does that mean there's a way out of here?"

"I...uh...I don't know," *said Susan, apologetically.* "Travel between worlds as I know it usually has very little pattern or logic to it...but I will try everything I can. For now it seems I...we all must bide here, for a time."

Wolf's face dropped "Oh, oh well that's all right, I'm sure there's a way" what did he have to go back to anyway? Virginia was dead, and everyone probably hated him for disappearing.
((If Wolf wasn't so, well Wolf-y, he'd probably be seen as terribly creepy hanging out with two underage girls.))

((SUSAN IS N--well, sixteen, okay, she is.))
*Susan tried to smile--in a way, Wolf reminded her of Aslan. Sort of.*
"What do you know about this place? What are the people like? Is there magic in this world?"

"There's a wood, with elves," Lyra offered helpfully.

"Oh yea, there really nice... if not a little scary at times" he started heading toward the room "come on up ladies I'll order us a bucket of ice cream."
And a couple steaks...

"I..." *Susan bit her lip and forced back her pride.*
"Count me out. I really ought to be responsible and save my money. I'll be looking for a job, soon, I expect, as well as a place to stay."
