*That voice. Only a Phantom could send that sort of feeling go racing through him. It was different, somehow more elemental...it was her.
He slowly turned his head, and found himself meeting that mesmerizing gaze. How long had it been since he'd seen her? Years? It felt like countless ages. Even so, one could never forget her.*
"Maestra..."

*She felt a flood of relief wash through her, as part of her had feared that he'd forgotten about her thanks to Erik.
'Maestra' sounded divine.*
"For ages, it feels, Erika has been trying to see you again. It angers her that you were taken from the lair and brought to this strange place. It took much time and effort to find you again, my angel. So much time..."
*She slowly moved towards him, as though afraid he'd flee from her*

*It's happening all over again. Another Phantom, another enocunter--he wondered if Christine, whom he had never met, had had to deal with multiple Phantoms, as well.
He stood up, though he stayed by the table*
"I would have tried to return if I knew how. I hope you believe that." He said quietly.

"Of course, of course, my dear boy--Erika ever doubted as much."
*She reached out to touch him, then suddenly dropped her hand, eyes narrowing when he flinched*
"So. Erika is repulsive to you, but Erik is not. Erika wonders if you harbor any feeling left for her, or if this is simply a futile effort to reconnect."

*It really WAS happening all over again*
"No, I...it's not that. It's..."
*He hadn't felt this torn in ages. It wasn't a pleasant feeling. He heaved a sigh*
"So much has happened, I can't...just pick up where things left off."

*She slowly nodded, all calm exterior but boiling with anger inside.*
"She understands, Christian. Years have passed since last Erika spoke to you. She should not be so foolhardy as to expect that you would remain untouched for the entire time, particularly when around a double of herself."
*Oh, the irony. The sick irony that made her want to smash something. Perhaps mirrors. Or better yet, a chandelier*

"I'm sorry, maestra, I truly am. I owe you a large debt--you were the one that tutored me, brought out my talent for all to hear. I would be forever greatful for that."

*She gave him a humorless smile*
"Yes, yes, dear boy, Erika understands, and she is happy to hear that you feel that way. It eases some of her pain. Now...she must go. She is of a mind that is perhaps not very pleasant, if it ever was."
*Laughing dryly, she went back through the secret wall and was gone*

*He slowly sat down again, staring at the wall. He had a feeling that this was not the last he'd hear from her--not by a long shot *

*A letter showed up, short and to the point.*
Christian-
Where are you? When I don't hear from people in months it tends to be a bit nerve-wracking.
Write back or so help me God I will send the Royal Marines down there after you.
Micaela
PS. Pregnant again. This is bad. Liam's talking, though, which is good. And we're holding a wedding here. Which just gives me a headache.
