John listened carefully, pursing his lips as he spoke "You know what they say about politicians." He shook his head "It wasn't right to make you do that, he'd rather have to make you leave your home then accept his fate. I hate people like that."

"For a long time I was just glad to put all of that behind me. I didn't have any illusions that I'd have a fresh start in Paris--I knew how the world worked--but maybe at least I could move on with my life, such as it was at the time."
He sighed.
"Sometimes I wish I could go back, but I don't know if that's possible, and really...why? I sure as hell have no friends there and I barely remember that I have a family. All my good memories are of buildings and other places rather than people."

"I wish you had more than that" he replied squeezing Laszlo in a hug.

He hugged John back.
"Maybe it's for the best. I doubt what family I do have would want to learn that their son was a streetrat whore for years on end."

"Depending on the kind of people they are, they either could hate it" he replied honestly "or just be happy to see you're alive."

He sat back a bit.
"Knowing my luck well, I'm pretty sure it'd be the first thing."

"What's sad is that sometimes, I think of my mom. She's really the only thing I even recall, and it's just her face. I think about her and miss her and wish I could see her again, even if she'd just throw me back out again." He shook his head. "Isn't that stupid?"

"I guess not.
You know I look like her? I've got the same coloring--she's dark-haired and has blue eyes. Beautiful, and so's her name: Melánia."
((I am so nerd that his parents had full names almost since I first made him, heh.))

((I gave John's parents names and even, figured he had a little sister that died very young, but I never named her. I'm slowly fleshing his story out here and it's starting to become very strange haha.))
"Enchanting" he gave Laszlo a big smile "and she must of been beautiful, if you looking like her is any indication."

He laughed.
"I wonder where my singing comes from--her or my father?" He shrugged.
"I suppose I'll never know that."

"That could be just your talent, I know although I can sing a bit my parents couldn't hold a tune to save their lives. So, yea."

"Naww, but talent does run in a family. Even if it's one a musician the other could be a painter."
A wistful smile, so rare a sight on his face, appeared.
"I can kinda imagine her as a musician. Maybe a violinist."
