*Despite being utterly clueless when it came to matters of safety and forethought, Enjolras did recognize that Paris wouldn't be safe for his daughter for much longer. He'd contacted some cousins (who were living in the family chateau, a place familiar to Adi) and requested that she come live with them. They were all for it, as they had a daughter about the same age who was quite lonesome. She'd have a tutor and nanny and the best of care... and she wouldn't be in danger.*
*So it was that Enjolras was waiting in the foyer of the townhouse, surrounded by suitcases that held all of Adi's things.*

*A very pale Adi padded down the stairs in her tiny traveling frock and then launched herself at her father, hugging him tightly.*
"Papa, why do I have to go?" *She whimpered.* "I don't want to be away from you."

*He sighed and stroked her hair.*
"Adi, in a few weeks Paris isn't going to be safe for anyone, especially not someone related to me. You have to go visit Tonton Edouard and Tantine Marianne, just for a few weeks." *He said, holding her tiny frame to him.*

"But... but..." *Fear of losing her father like she had her mother and brother crashed over her and, like any small child, knew how to deal with it in no other way than to wrap her tiny arms around her father's neck and burst into tears.*

*His heart broke a little at that like it always did and he picked her up, shushing her soothingly.*
"Come now, ma belle, it's not so bad as that. I'll see you again in a few weeks." *He assured her, but he didn't know if he would. He'd taken care of his will and made sure she was well provided-for in the likely event that he was killed.*
*It hit him that this could be the last time he saw his precious child, the child who'd kept him sane and who'd brightened his life so very much. He shut his eyes and held her tighter against his chest, but a tear slipped out from under his eyelid and rolled down his cheek.*

*Adi buried her face in his shoulder, smelling his cologne. It was a smell she associated with safety, with comfort. It always made her feel better.*
"Don't m-make m-me g-go aw-w-way." *She hiccuped in small voice.*

*He set her down.*
"It's not for long, Adi-bug." *He said, smiling weakly and trying to be strong for her.* "Come on, let's get you in that carriage to go have your train ride, hmm?" *He offered one large hand to her.*

*Adi took the proffered hand in her tiny one and followed him out into the rainy street. He lifted her into the carriage, kissed her on the forehead, and told her to be a good girl. After he closed the door and the baggage was loaded, the carriage pulled away. Adi pressed her face against the back window and watched her father 'til she couldn't see him any more. He waited until the carriage was out of sight to go back in the house with a heavy heart.*
