"I don't suppose I would prefer just right here...I hadn't really thought about it. I...don't have home anymore or I'd choose there, I think. Well, perhaps not. I wouldn't want anyone from, well from 'up there' to know, because then he would find out and he'd think he'd failed somehow. But someplace more comfortable, if I could choose and I suppose I just...I'm afraid?"
He rambled, his voice waivering a bit.

*Julian had tried to follow the babbling, but was frustrated to fail. The only thing he could figure was 'down here, but not here'. He could take him back to the cell, but that was not comfortable for him. He could take him home, but Mother...would probably not approve.*
"If we stayed in the Opera and unseen, would you be satisfied?"

"I suppose that's the best I could hope for."
Grantaire smiled again, a bit.
"How'll you...?"

*Julian quirked his head, awaiting the rest of the thought.*
"How will I what?"

He didn't want to say "kill me" because that sounded strange and like he were accusing the man of murder.
"How will you, er, help me die? I just want to go to sleep I think--I mean, no broken neck or suffocating or anything bloody." He rubbed the back of his head again and screwed up his ugly face.
"I guess that'd mean some kind of poison." And that seemed like an awful lot of trouble just for him. "I'm sorry, you don't have to...I mean, it's not like you're obligated or anything."

"Oh." *He answered plainly. Julian hadn't made the jump from sitting to killing, but he was there now. He shrugged indifferently.*
"Poison is easy enough. Or smoothering, or..."
*A light flickered in his eyes. Something that the other Erik had said.*
"Or I could simply try to pull your soul from your body."
*It probably wasn't the ideal for for his mother, but at least it could be a test to see if it worked at all. And it wasn't as if the man wanted to keep it.*

"That...um...doesn't sound pleasant--I'm sorry, but are you mad?"
He didn't mean the question to be offensive of course, but a man who lived in the dark and dank, called another man "mother" and offered to pull out your soul...
"Poison would be best, I think. Quick and quiet. Like too much absinthe."

*Julian gave a hollow laugh. After all, this was coming from a man that was wandering the cellars for the second time and begging to be killed.*
"No...not mad. Does that mean that you no longer want my assistance?"

"No--I mean, I do. I mean if you're willing--you don't have to--I just..." He huffed, frustrated with himself and broke into a cough.
"I'm sorry, I'm really not making any sense, I know. Can't we go somewhere warmer and...less...wet?"

"Of course." *He answered simply. He could take him home he supposed. Since he was going to die anyways.*
"This way."
*He gestured and began down the hall.*
"Just be careful, or you'll die before we get there. Make sure you follow me carefully."

"But I can't see anything..." he muttered.
He hadn't exactly brought a lamp, and Julian was probably more than well used to the darkness.

*Julian reached back without looking, catching the man deftly by the wrist. He certainly was needy.*
"Better?"
*His grip was firm, but not painful, his steps sure.*

((gosh, he is needy right now. XD It's annoying even me.))
"Thanks."
He followed, a bit more wobbly, and had a stop a couple of times for his cough or the pain in his chest, but he seemed to make no mis-steps.
