((*is screwing around with the timeline...shamelessly*))
"Osgiliath has fallen to Saruman and his Orcs and my men to their arrows," *he stated helplessly.*
"Lady Eowyn... The White Lady of Rohan," *he said to himself as he studied her face.* "I have only heard tales about the Shieldmaiden from travelers who come to rest behind the walls of Osgiliath and Minas Tirith."

((So do I But what can you expect from confused victims of a timewarp?)) "Saruman and his Orcs have not won yet, my lord. *The sunlight floated in through the window, and fell on Éowyn's long, golden curls, making her hair shine like a halo, and giving her fair skin a soft glow. Her bright blue eyes were glittering like sapphires, and her soft, pink lips were parted in a radiant smile, flashing her shiny, white teeth.* "I was not aware that there were tales about me, my lord."

*The sight of her was like a vision and he half expected her to disappear any moment.*
"I am convinced, my lady, that those people speak of nothing else but you during the long journey from the realms of Rohan to Gondor."

*Lady Éowyn blushed deeply and looked down for a moment, before meeting his gaze once more.*
"I have heard about you as well, my lord. The courage of the Captain of Gondor is known and highly esteemed among the Rohirrim. My uncle's warriors speak of nothing else."

*Faramir shook his head.* "No, it was my brother you speak of. It is true that we both led men out to battle and our men did indeed trust us even as we marched him into harm's way... the only difference was that Boromir brought them back alive, and I, dead."

*Lady Éowyn hushed him gently and placed a soothing hand on his forehead. She got worried when she noticed his fever, and reminded herself to brew him some tea.*
"That's not what the Rohirrim say. They speak of the contrast between the stupidly brave Boromir, who takes unnecessary risks and doing things no skilled warrior should do, and his skilled and careful brother Faramir. In the opinion of the Rohirrim, his brother is the best warrior. A man who tries to do what he can for his men, even with all odds against him. Don't judge yourself too hard, my lord. No man could have resisted that attack."
*She caressed his cheek gently.*

((LOL Boromir shit talking. XD I have to say, I rather liked Boromir.))
"Perhaps it was luck but what ever stupid risk my brother took, it resulted in success. And 'careful': my father said that careful was simply another word for coward. The Rohirrim bestow upon me far too much laud. And you, my lady, show far too much grace to a man that has probably sealed your realm's fate."

((Giggles. Oh, really? I always found him a bit on the slimy side. I liked his brother better.))
*Lady Éowyn smiled warmly and brewed him a cup of tea with something to stop his fever. She came over to his side and sat down on his bed again. She supported his head as she helped him drink his tea.*
"My lord, methinks your father would be useless in a battlefield then. If you are not careful in the battle, you get yourself and your men killed. It would be a bloodshed for no use at all. And a loss of good men that could win the battle for you later."
*She dipped a cloth in cold water and placed it gently on his forehead.*
"And you have not sealed my realm's fate, my lord. Sauron has not won yet. And he never will. We must not lose hope."

((*Shrug* Dunno... Maybe it's because Sean Bean played him in the movie. XD I'm a crazy Sean fangirl.))
"My father only wanted what he thought was best for Gondor. Even though his actions may have proved to lack better judgment, I believe his heart was pure."
*Faramir thankfully drank the tea and looked upon the brilliant lady again.* "You remain so hopeful. How? What have you seen?"

((XD Never mind me. I am a sucker for Faramir, that's all )) "I am sure your father was pure of heart once. But I do not like the stories I hear about how he treats the youngest of his sons." *Lady Éowyn looked deeply into his eyes, as she helped him with his tea.* "I will never lose hope, my lord. If I lose that, there is nothing left to live for, and I will die. In my heart I firmly believe that Sauron will be defeated and that all men will be free."

*Faramir searched her radient countenance for any lies that she might have said simply because she was in the presense of an injured man. But he found none and, although logic told him otherwise, Faramir believed. He closed his eyes and breathed deeply, relaxing for the first time since his arrival to the strange world.*
"If the brave and wise Shieldmaiden of Rohan believes, why shouldn't I?" *he asked rethorically.*

((Awwwww. I totally melt for these two. *wipes away tear from eyes.* )) *Lady Éowyn smiled warmly and placed the teacup on the table. She continued dipping the cloth on his forehead in cold water regularly, to ease his fever.* "The brave Captain of Gondor can be safe here with me." *She said quietly.* "Rest assured that Sauron will be defeated. Even thought things can look bad at times, the good always defeat the bad. Never lose hope."

((Hee! Me too. They're my LotR OTP.))
"Yes," *he said to himself as his consciousness flickered in and out of sleep,* "with the Lady of Rohan...."
*And with that, Faramir fell asleep and dreamt of his future, a peaceful existence in Ithilien with a fair angel that had long, blonde curls and brilliant blue eyes. Only... that being wasn't an angel.*

((Hee! Mine too. Awwwwww, he is so sweet. *melts away.* )) *Lady Éowyn sat by his side the entire night, watching over him. She dipped the cloth on his forehead in cold water, changed his bandages when needed, never leaving his side. The bright blue eyes that rested calmly on the sleeping man, were filled with a light that had never been there before.*

****CONTINUATION FROM THE DAY ROOM THREAD****
*As Eowyn eased him into bed, Faramir asked plainly, trying to hide his feelings,* "Do you love him?" *He had sensed a strange loyalty and perhaps something more from her as she evaded his questions.*
