He smirked and led her past the bedroom down a long hall and to another heavy door.
"Behind this are my most entertaining rooms!" His manner was cheerful and friendly.
"I had said that your duties would begin in the kitchen tomorrow, but I think they should begin here, this very evening. The sooner you learn your place, the more comfortable you will be in my home."

"What do you want me to do?"
You know damn well. A hunter...still, if it comes to it, he isn't bad looking.

He leaned down and put his lips at her ear.
"Open the door and find out."

*Johanna took a deep breath and did as he said*

**NEW DAY OR NIGHT**
*Johanna was still considering her new life. All in all, it could have been worse, and had been in the past. Her 'master' never hurt her or expected her to marry him, and if she was less pure now than when she started, wouldn't that happen eventually?*

Johanna had indeed proved herself capable--in all her duties--over the past week, and earlier that day she had been granted some control over the finances of the house, been allowed to meet with Morangias' solicitors. She had been given a private room, as Head of House, not expected to sleep in the smaller room two other girls already shared. This room was directly connected to the Master bedroom via a door that did not lock.
Presently, Morangias was indeed in his room, reading at the large desk kept within.

*Johanna journeyed downstairs, into the library. Taking a book from the shelf, she began to read, then blushed deeply.*

A few moments later, Morangias entered to return his own book to the shelf, a bit surprised to see her within, but he smirked all the same as he approached.
"Ah. Justine. Not one of my favorites, but still a classic. I much prefer The 120 Days of Sodomwhich won't be published for another 80 years."

*She quickly shut it, a bit embarrassed*
"The man who wrote it...did he have a vivid imagination, or did he really do those things to some girl?"

"Oh, I'm sure he had participated in at least a few of his fictional vices. But you know, there are things in his works even I find rather distasteful."
He chuckled and took the book from her hands, and as he placed it back on the shelf and reached up for another, he pressed her back against the stacks, smirking down at her.
"I think you'll find this one a bit more palatable, my dear."
Morangias drew the book down, still pressed up against her.
"It has...elements of de Sade, but is told as a love story, rather than a satire. I think you will enjoy it."

*She smiled a bit. The strange thing about being with him was that she never knew whether his presence was going to frighten or please her.*
"Thank you."

He brought the book down and pressed it gently against her breast, then backed off.
"Take it to your room and enjoy it in private." his smirk was ever-present.
"If it boils you, well, you have only to open the door between our two rooms."

*If it aroused her. It hadn't been about her choice before. Perhaps the change was unimportant, but Johanna had a tendency toward the romantic.*
"I will. I'm glad you take an interest."

"Oh, I have a deep interest, my dear." he chuckled, and directed her out of the library.
He had plans for the girl, and a play at romance would be the path of least resistance to his goals.
