*The door to La Vegetarte went up, and an old man in a dark cloak, a wizard's hat and with long, white hair and beard entered the room. He stood in the doorway for a while, looking around, while he was leaning on his walking stick - or was it a wand? His gray eyes expressed intelligence, wisdom and life experience, and also a sense of humor. With a friendly nod to the other customers in the room, he stood still, looking for a place to sit down.*

Hallie barely blinked at the wizard's strange attire.
"Welcome to La Vegetarte, what can I get you?"

*Merlin smiled friendly and bowed politely to the young woman who had spoken to him.*
"Greetings, young lady, and thank you for your friendly welcome. If it is not too much trouble, I would like a table, and a warm meal."

"Well, you can just grab a table after you've gotten your meal, and you should probably specify what sort of meal you'd like," she said patiently.

*Merlin smiled warmly and nodded.*
"The sign says that this is a pie shop. You wouldn't happen to have rhubarb pie with custard cream?" *he asked hopefully.*

"I do. Will that be a slice or a whole pie?"

*Merlin chuckled. He had a long journey behind him, and this was his first meal for days. Bachelors doesn't always remember to eat. He smiled.*
"I am pretty hungry right now, so I could settle for the whole pie. Do you serve something to drink as well?"

"Sure. Basic soft drinks, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, alcohol, all that jazz."

*Merlin smiled.*
"I would like a soft drink, please. It doesn't matter what. Just surprise me."

*Merlin picked up his leather pouch and gave her the amount she asked for, plus a little extra, since he appreciated her friendliness and service.*
"Thank you, young lady. You can keep the change."

She looked at the pile of money and grinned. "Thanks."

*Merlin chuckled with laughter. He was a friendly old man. Grandfather-like.*
"You're welcome, young lady."
*He took his food and drink, and found a vacant table by the window.*
