"Come, join me. It's so tiresome to try and drown one's troubles alone, don't you think?"

"I-I suppose so. I have not known the difference."
*He stammered, unsure of what was occuring.*

**NEW NIGHT**
*She'd searched high and low for Norman, and hadn't found a single sign of him. It was extremely upsetting--they had so much planned, and poof, gone! Sure, she'd disappeared for periods of time, but only for a night at most. This had been...
In truth, she didn't know how long it had been, since she'd long ago stopped even bothering to keep track of the days. Now she was wishing she'd paid more attention to that.
Bored, she sat on a pile of pillows, half-heartedly smoking from a hookah*

*Mira slunk in and curled up in a corner, holding back sobs. She paid the fee and took a pipe, virtually unable to do anything else with herself.
After a while, she relaxed. Learning your husband was a serial killer supervillain working for Dracula felt a lot better when you were on heavy drugs.*

*Maria paid the woman no mind, though she did notice when she stumbled out of the room.
Sighing, Maria stayed put. She'd learned not long ago that Opium-tainted blood wasn't the best-tasting.*

Mercutio slunk in, casually, flipping a little pipe between his fingers as he walked. He hadn't been here yet- but my, did he find the most exciting places in Paris.

*The boredom quickly lifted when something much, much more interesting than she'd seen in a while came in. She lifted an inquiring eyebrow*
"Good evening."

Mercutio paused, quirking a brow in Maria's direction. "Good evening," he purred, changing direction to saunter over to her, no further encouragement necessary. He twirled the pipe again, then twined his hands behind his back as he gave a short little bow, his eyes lingering on Maria. In a place like this, Mercutio couldn't take even those simple words of greeting at face value.

*She gave him a smile, all open friendliness. Maybe she'd actually have some fun, this time around.
She gestured at one of the hookahs*
"Be careful of that one...I think someone slipped something into that shouldn't be there."

Mercutio gave the offensive paraphanelia a long, sideways look. "Much obliged, then." A pause, as Mercutio straightened a little, pursing his lips. "Such a kind word of warning deserves another kind action in return. May I join you? I'll try my very best to be grateful."

"Oh, please, join me. It's been a bit dull, sitting here by myself."

"The indignity! I'd be no kind of gentleman if I didn't immediately strive to entertain you, then." Mercutio threw himself down beside her, flopping carelessly onto some cushions. "I'd hate for your senses to be dulled and deadened into the faint, dusty stirrings of a excitement-deprived heart."

*She gave a little laugh.*
"Glad that you've come along, then. I would have been a lost cause."

"You could always balance it by being a scoundrel." She offered.
