"All right" he nodded ignoring what she said about men being big babies, he hasn't felt pain in almost four hundred years for god sakes. "What was that thing anyway?"

*Wild tried to help him back on his feet, glad she hadn't asked him to undress completely.*
"That was the hidden threat of Lorien. They are so easy to summon that we only call them THEM."

"Wonderful" he pulled held her arm as he pulled himself up with a grunt, he mumbled something about the devil and suddenly found himself thinking for some strange reason about Elizabeth Hurley with a whip, it was a nice thought.
"So what are you all gonna do about it?"

*Wild placed her arm about his waist, trying very hard not to cringe as she did so. She hated to have to touch him, but what could she do? He was wounded. Still, she hated men.*
"Ah, don't worry. Leetah and I have some plans on how to get rid of those critters once and for all. It might take some effort, but we will succeed. If not, THEY will take over the world. So you see, this is a war we can't afford to lose."

"The old take over the world ploy" he shook his head "when will villains ever learn? They don't win, stick to corrupting the innocent and being menaces, it's what they're good at, when they get delusions of grandeur is when they fail."

*Wild grinned broadly.*
"Yeah. And the new king and queen here in Lorien are villains as well. They murdered their way to the top, it seems. No wonder Leetah is pissed off. She was the best friend of the former queen."
*She led Edward to the kitchen table.*
"Please sit down. As you can see, dinner is served. Dig in."

He looked down at the chair and sighed as he moaned loudly as he sat down "Looks delicious."

*Wild grinned broadly. She had always hated cooking. Even so, she knew how to cook, something she would never admit willingly.*
"Good." *She replied with a devilish sense of humor.* "I won't tell you what it is, then."

"I don't care, I feel like I'm starving."
Which is still weird, since I haven't felt that in years either he took a bite and smiled "It's very good." He looked up at her "Can you at least tell me what kind of beast it was, demon... devil?"

*Wild sat down and helped herself to some food. She also poured up something to drink for them.*
"Thank you. The beasts, whose names we must not mention, are devils. They have been roaming the earth since the beginning of time. They started attacking Lorien because we Elves are the only ones who can stop them from taking over the world. Only here are the Shamans of Black and White Magic powerful enough to stop them from reaching their goal. I am the tribe Shaman of Black Magic, and Leetah is the Shaman of White Magic."

He gulped down a fork full of food "You said d-devil right?"
He damned everything in existence at that very moment. When he made the deal with that dude What the hell was his name? so he could stay on earth without the restrictions of heaven or hell, he said there was only one rule, don't fight any devils. "Or I'd loose my immortality..." He looked at Wild very concerned.

*Wild looked at him. When she noticed the concerned look on his face, she got worried and placed her hand over his.*
"At least they are a devil people. I have counted 30 of them this far. Edward, what is wrong? Are you ok?"

He dropped his fork and placed his hands on his face "F***!" He exclaimed and slammed his fists on the table and looked at Wild, tears seemed to want to fall, but didn't, they just sat there, wishing they could fall, but Edward wouldn't let them, not for the pain he was feeling, not for anything, a mans pride was important after all.
"I made a deal a long time ago, a deal with a devil" he moaned and stuffed his face in his hands "I grew tired of the afterlife, it bored me to tears, I had to get out, but a dead person just can't walk the earth you know. I met this guy, he said he could help me get to the surface, but for a price. He said, if I fought any devil or devil related creature..."
He took a long breath and looked at Wild "... I'd be mortal once again."

*Wild looked at him. For the first time, she could almost feel sorry for him. Almost. And he had protected her more than she had expected. She wondered why. She pretended she didn't see his tears, she didn't want to hurt his pride. This was not the right moment. Maybe later. Instead she placed her hand over his.*
"There might be a solution to this problem of yours...."
*She said mildly, after thinking for a while.*
"The devil, as you call him, may rule the afterlife and the rest of the Earth. But he has no say in Lorien. The Elven Magic protects against him. Lorien has it's problems, yes. But we are also protected against many things because of our powerful magic. As long as you stay here in Lorien, he can't reach you. Not in person and not with magic."

"Y-You don't understand Wild" he grabbed a sharp knife and cut in to his arm, it bled and bled "I'm mortal! It happened immediately after I stabbed him Wild, I was loosing my immortality as he threw me against a tree."
He ripped a piece off his stomach bandage and tied it around his arm "I was just so worried... he was going to hurt you, I didn't stop to think..."
