Emmy stalked back and forth just outside the back door of the house, her cell phone pressed to her ear. There was a very perturbed look on her face, making her far less attractive. She shouted into the phone.
"NO! No, listen to me, it DID sell! It was #2 on the pop charts on iTunes--no. Well no, it wasn't the full album, but obviously it proves that it was successful! I--what? No, I don't...how many? Oh...well maybe if you people had done YOUR JOBS and, you know, PUBLICIZED ME, I would have sold more! This is your fault, and I won't let you do this to me just because YOU are incapable! Do you KNOW who I am?"

Richard wandered in.
From the beach.
Yes, the beach in that thread.

Emmy turned and saw Richard approaching from the beach. Gasping, she turned her back to him quickly and hissed into the phone: "I have to go! But this is NOT the end of this conversation, do you hear me? I swear to God if you try anything before I get back to you, you'll regret it!"
She snapped the phone shut and tossed it into her bag as she whipped around, a frighteningly large smile plastered on her face. "RICHARD!"

"Emmy..." he said weakly.

She quickly glomped him.
"Yes, darling?"

"Nothing," he said slowly.
Oh, God, did she have to be smiling like that? She was terrifying, yes, and there were times when he suspected that she fed unsuspecting salespeople making house calls to a pack of inbred mutants in her basement, but... oh, God, she loved him.
And he didn't love her.

Oblivious, Emmy looped her arm with his and began leading him down toward a winding path. "Guess what? I just got off the phone with my record company and my first album was such a success that they want me to record another!"

"That's... that's lovely."

She nodded absently. "They think it's going to be another huge hit."

"Oh, ok then! La de da."
She stopped and faced him. "No, what is it?"

"You do realize that y- that we went about this rather quickly, yes?"

She considered this. "Well, yes. But that's what happens when two people are as in love as we are, you know? It's like fate takes over and you can't fight it."
