She bit her lip, looking at his finger, and then her eyes turned to his face. The tiniest smile curled her lips as she batted her eyelashes, both jokingly and prettily.

*Guido swallowed and retreated his hand. Tempting as she was, he couldn't bring himself to do this to a child. He tried to cover his embarrassment with a laughter.*
"Signorina, if I didn't know better I would say you were trying to flirt with me."

She raised her eyebrows and smirked.
"And if I didn't know better I'd say it was working."

*He laughed.*
"Are you implying that you want to go out to dinner with me?"

She laughed, too.
"I think you're implying more than that."

*He arched his eyebrows, and there was a glimpse of humor in his eyes.*
"Oh, am I?" *He teased.* "Like what?"

"Oh, I don't know." She told him, her voice joking, though she was partially honest. She'd been a little girl for so long, but not long enough to learn what big girls do behind closed doors.
"The kinds of things that don't involve leaving the room."

*Guido chuckled with laughter and leaned provocatively against the wall.*
"Really?" *He teased.* "And what would that be?"
*He, of course, knew what she was referring to. But he didn't want to seduce a child. No matter how much she told him she was not little anymore. He doubted she was all grown up.*

"I'm not sure," she said, stepping back into the room so that he could come in. "I think you'll have to show me."

*He chuckled with laughter.*
"Well, you see, that's the problem. I'm Italian. In my country we try to be romantic with the ladies. And the things you're implying always include candle-lit dinners, live music, red roses, and a walk under the starry sky. Sometimes also poems or serenades."

She smiled, more to herself than at him, and stepped forward until she was almost touching him.
Then she stood up on the tips of her toes and kissed him, so quick and light that it was barely a kiss at all, and then she was back with her feet all the way on the floor, looking up at him hopefully.

*Guido arched his eyebrows in surprise when she kissed him. Then he smiled and came inside her room, closing the door behind him.*
"But if you insist...."
*He took her in his arms and kissed her properly.*

She smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"I told you I'm not so little anymore," she mumbled happily.

*Guido pulled her closer, deepening the kiss while he caressed her hair gently.*
"Mmmmmmmmmmmm...... I noticed."
*He whispered against her lips.*

"So show me, Guido, what comes next?"
She was still mumbling, and her arms were still around his neck, and she was still kissing him as much as she could, because she was still smiling a big, stupid grin.
