*Malefica had just taken care of her son Gawain and given him his food and afternoon nap. Now she was walking around in the fortress, carrying her baby and showing him around. Suddenly she discovered a man she had not seen before.*
"Welcome to my fortress, Monsieur. What can I do for you?"
*Her voice was soft and mild, her eyes showed the culture and intelligence she possessed.*

"Your fortress? Well, I suppose it is you I should thank for the lovely accomodations then. It simply is lovely. I'm a friend of the elf Dewshine, and am here seeking the services of Merlin."

*Malefica smiled gently, and bowed her head graciously.*
"It is nice to make your aquaintance, Monsieur, whose name should not be spoken out loud, as enemy ears and eyes are out seeking for you. You can rest assured that no harm will come to you in this fortress. The elf Dewshine.... I haven't seen her since she was a baby."
*She looked up at him, smiling.*
"And my adoptive father, I hope, was capable of giving you the help you need?"

"I hope so as well"
He showed her the stump.
He began to sing "Half the man I used to be"

((The last line you wrote made me *sporfle* )) *Malefica watched his arm with a mien of compassion, at the same time she pressed her baby Gawain closer to her, shielding his tiny head to protect him from the sight.* "Oh dear, that looks serious. I'd put some ice on if I were you, to cool down the damage and make it hurt less. After that, I would put some healing herbs on the worst places. Do you have Athelás?"

He wasn't sure what that was.
"No, I suppose I don't."

*Malefica found a leather pouch in her pocket and opened it. Inside there was two dried, blue flowers. She offered them to him.*
"Athelás. Used for centuries to stop severe bleeding. Grows in forests in the shadow of old oak trees."

He took the flowers.
"I think most of the bleeding has stopped, but I would like to hold on to these for later, if that's alright."

*Malefica smiled warmly.*
"Keep them. I have a feeling you might need them. The enemies chasing after you are many and dangerous. But they have no power here."

"I fear you underestimate my enemies, ma'am. Never-the-less, I cannot stay long. Only long enough for Merlin to assist me. The longer I am aided by magic, even the magic of this place, the more danger I place myself in."

*Malefica chuckled with laughter.*
"If your enemies are stupid enough to attack this fortress, Monsieur, it is them who underestimate me. You may stay for as long as you like. I know Merlin is working with your new arm today. I saw him talking to the blacksmith."
*She could have told him she was not human. She was the daughter of the Greek god Zeus and of Queen Lilith of Hell, and as such a princess of both heaven and hell. She was also a talented witch, educated by Merlin. And the Guardian of the Holy Grail.*

"I wonder, ma'am, if you could show me the way to the kitchen?"

*Malefica smiled warmly.*
"Of course. Please, follow me."
*She started walking down the corridor, cradling her baby.*

He followed.
"That is a beautiful child, ma'am. May I ask the name?"

*Malefica smiled with motherly pride, holding her baby close to her heart.*
"Thank you. His name is Gawain."
