*The sergeant at the bar looked from the elf girls money to her and back. Shaking his head he pointed over to the table where War sat, saying something that the loud music drowned out. War's voice on the other hand cut through the din just fine.*
"Not so sure your money is good here little one."

*Wildfeather turned her head calmly and looked at War.*
"Your clerk here obviously needs an education and a pair of glasses. First: Elfs don't use money in their own world. We get everything we need from magic. And second: These are the kind of money used in France."

"Sarge's eyes work just fine. And it's not the money that's in question. It's the owner. This is my place."
*War took another long pull from his mug before setting it down. Nodding his head to the sign above the bar War translates.*
"Either conquer or die.... so where's your army little girl? What lands do you hold? What people do you have under your heel? This is a place for warriors."

*Wildfeather smiled calmly. She had heard that one before.... She lifted her head and looked him straight into the eyes.*
"Have you ever heard of the High Elves? We inhabited the Earth long before the humans arrived. There are two tribes of High Elves. The Light Elves and The Dark Elves. The Light Elves use their powers to do good things. The Dark Elves, well, I don't think you need to guess that. I am a Dark Elf. I currently live in Lorien, but The Land of Shadows is the land I hold. All Dark Elves and lost souls who enter the Land of Shadows are under my heel."

*War yawns stretching as he does.*
"Right... elves. Who's time has passed. You pointy eared lute strumers passed the reigns on to humans long ago. It's humans that hold power over the tides of battle now. And their deviously creative little minds come up with the most delicious ways of killing each other. What I'm saying is I don't let has beens drink their fill."

*Wildfeather yawned and stretched too.*
"First of all, grandpa: I don't play a lute. I play electric guitar. Solo. And I'm good at it too. Second: I am not a has been. I excist here and now. And since I'm immortal, you won't get rid of me that easily."

"Immortals... I love immortals. They always think that they're safe since they assume death is the worst thing that can happen to them. Sink a cold iron hook through your spinal column and chain you to the floor of the ocean for a few millennium then see how you feel about immortality."
*War glanced up at her from behind his shades.*
"So you play a guitar and ride a bike.... other than being terribly anachronistic compared to other elves how's that working for you?"

"Death doesn't scare me, grandpa."
*Wildfeather listened to him, smiling. She rolled up her blouse and turned her back to him, showing him a scar on her spine. Then she rolled the blouse back in place.*
"Been there, done that. Anything else you're wondering about?"

*War nodded after taking a few seconds to think.*
"Sure... if you're apparently such a perfect patron for this place, great warlord, faultless warrior and oh so very scary....."
*Rocking his chair back to the floor with a thud he stands, towering over the young girl briefly before walking to the bar.*
"Why have I never heard of you?"

*Wildfeather looked at him, calmly, smiling as she heard him chiding her. She knew what kind of character he was, and decided to take it cool and see how long she could continue this conversation peacefully. It was a good thing she had a sense of humor.*
"Oh, I don't know....." *She replied calmly in her dry, sarcastic tone.*
"Either because we have not been properly introduced, or because you are completely ignorant about my race. Which one do you prefer?"

"Survey says..."
*War points up towards the rafters as a large flaming X erupts, burning for a few seconds before fading.*
"I'm sorry... the judges were looking for, "because I'm to young to have done much of merit but gee golly Mr. War I'll study hard, eat my vegetables and do better in the future."
*Handing his mug over to a snickering Sherman to be refilled War shook his head.*

*Wildfeather looked at the flaming X at the rafters, arching her eyebrows appreciating.*
"Nice. Lasers?" *She asked, commenting the flames.*
*She laughed at his last reply.*
"You are looking for the wrong person if you expect me to use an expression like gee golly. But I don't mind studies and vegetables. They are actually good for you."
*She looked teasingly at War and Sherman.*
"You should try it once."

"Try what?"
*Taking the recently refilled mug War takes a gulp and returns to his comfortable seat.*
"Talking back to those who know better? I've done that long before you were around."

"Studies and vegetables of course. Keeps you fit. And sane."
*She smiled.*
"Honestly, I doubt you know the meaning of the word better. But I don't doubt that you have done this before me. A long, very long time before me."

"I study more than you know little girl. And don't need to eat though I do when the mood suits me. As far as knowing sanity. I'm perfectly in my right mind. My right mind just happens to be infinitely more complex than specks of dust can understand."
*War turned his back on her again, showing his lack of concern that she could harm him, and enjoyed his ale.*
