*Nessa laughed, spinning graciously around in his arms.*
"Thank you, but it was my pleasure to take care of you. And if I were to pick any of the men in this room...."
*She blushed and looked up at him, with her beautiful, blue eyes.*
"....I would have picked you."

*Kirk smiled affectionately, not unused to that sentiment. He'd pick himself, too.*
"That's very kind," *he said.* "And fortunate."
*He swept her around the dance floor, navigating the other couples gracefully.*

*Nessa smiled and looked up at him. Her cheeks were blushing.*
"Is it just me, or is it hot in here? I could settle for some fresh air."

*Kirk laughed. He had that effect on people. It was mostly harmless.*
"Of course."
*He led her outside, where the light of the moon and the stars filtered through the trees to bathe them both in a silvery glow.*

((Oooooh, romantic )) *Nessa went outside with him, without noticing the many male elves who stared after them. She lifted her head and looked dreamingly up at the moon and the stars.* "The stars are shining so beautiful tonight."

"Yes, they are. Much prettier on Earth than in space," *he pointed out.* "The atmosphere makes them twinkle, you know."

*Nessa looked shyly up on him, with her glittering, blue eyes.*
"I didn't know that..." *She said quietly.* "Chamber maids don't learn much about stars. What do they look like in space?"

"Bright. Hard. Steady. They're beautiful, and now... they feel like home. But I always forget how beautiful they are from Earth. It reminds me of the magic of the universe that can be explained by science without lessening its effect."

*Nessa smiled and placed her tiny hand on his arm.*
"Do you see the bright star up there?"
*She pointed, a little to the right, where a star bigger than the others was shining.*
"That's where my people's ancestors came from. That is our real home."
*She leaned against him, while she looked dreamingly up on the star.*

*Kirk looked up at it.*
"So you are alien," *he said.* "Relative to us humans, that is."

*Nessa smiled dreamingly.*
"I was born at this planet." *She said.*
"But it is true we elves have some similarities to the humans. And some differences."

"Interesting," *he said.* "I'd love to learn more about your history sometime. But Nessa... what do you want right now?"

*Nessa blushed and looked up at him, with a twinkle in her eyes. The silvery glow of the moon and light above them, the sound of a romantic waltz from the dance hall, the smell of flowers out here in the garden... it was all so romantic. She shyly lifted her head and kissed him on the cheek, afraid he might get angry with her.*

*Far from being angry, Kirk took her briskly into his arms and kissed her properly.*

*Nessa felt a heat flushing her face. Her heart started beating more rapid. She closed her eyes and responded to his kiss, and embraced him lovingly.*
