*Nessa entered the room, obviously looking for someone. She saw Wildfeather and waved to her, and the two girls found themselves a corner where they could talk undisturbed. Haldir, who also was at the ball joined them. The three elves were talking in Elvish. This conversation was not meant for human ears.*

*Speaks to Nessa in Elvish:*
"Good, I have been expecting you. What news can you bring me about my sister? Is the baby born yet?"

*Replies in Elvish.*
"All is well with mother and child. The child's father is there too, and the demon that was on our side in the Battle of the Holy Grail. I don't dare to mention names. You know that in this place, even the walls have ears."

"Not so loud, little one! Do you want....THEM to find out?"
*When Nessa glanced nervously against the humans, Haldir sighed heavily.*
"Not the humans, stupid. I mean....THEM."

*Nessa startled and placed her hands over his mouth.*
"Not so loud! Do you want to summon them? Here?"
*She removed her hands and whispered to him.*
"You know very well we can't resist them forever. But we can't give up. What will become of this planet if we do? We are the only ones who can fight them back. The humans are not strong enough to deal with them alone. Can we really leave for the Grey Havens and leave the humans to their destiny?"

*Haldir sighed and turned to Nessa.*
"You know, after the murder of my beloved Tearbird, I don't give a damn about the humans. If my nephew will want the throne of Lorien as his own when he grow up, I will be ready to support him. But until then, we are stuck with the humans. They will have this chance to prove if they are guilty or innocent. Nothing shows the true nature of a human than getting an opportunity of power. The truth will be told through his actions from here. Good or evil, we will be ready for him."

*Wildfeather smiled and looked at them.*
"If you two are done with making your funeral arrangements before death has occured, we could perhaps get back to the present? This is a wedding. And we don't know for sure yet how this will turn out. Ok, some of us do, but we don't have to worry before there are any need for worries."
*She looked at the seductive wedding dance. It reminded her about animals making plays for each other before breeding. She grimaced and turned her head away in disgust.*

********LATER****
*The music and dancing was still going on when Nessa arrived the ballroom, that was filled with dancing elves, musicians, servants, and guests. She turned to Captain Kirk and smiled.*
"Do you dance, Captain Kirk?"

"As often as possible," *he said with his patented smirk and offered his arm.* "May I?"

"With pleasure, Monsieur."
*She smiled and took his arm, allowing him to lead her into the dance. Some of the male elves looked after Captain Kirk and this beautiful elf girl with envy. They didn't recognize Nessa when she dressed up like this. Little did she know that she was the most beautiful of all the elf girls in the ballroom this night.*

*Kirk, trained in many forms of diplomacy, learned the dance quickly. He leaned in close to Nessa to whisper in her ear.*
"You look divine," *he said.* "They're all staring at you."

*Nessa blushed and looked up at him.*
"Thank you."
*She whispered and smiled, with a glimpse of humor in her eyes.*
"But honestly, I think the ladies are staring at you.... You are very handsome."

"Perhaps," *he said.* "But I'm dancing with you."

*Nessa laughed too. She enjoyed dancing with him. He was an excellent dancer, and behaved like a gentleman. He was also extremely good-looking, which also helped.*
"I feel very lucky to be here with you." *She smiled.* "But if you want to dance with the other ladies as well, please don't let me stop you."

*Kirk laughed, spinning her around.*
"I wouldn't dream of it," *he said.* "You've been very kind, and the least I can do is show you off to best advantage. After tonight, I've no doubt you'll have your pick of the men."
