*Marie, wearing her best put-upon courtly air, gracefully descended from the hired carriage and swept up grandly to the doors of the house. She watched the exterior thoughtfully for a moment, then continued on her way and knocked sharply on the door.
Now was the moment of truth--now they would see if she could still do what she'd learned*

*Richard, unable to disguise himself well, was forced to remain on the sidelines for this part of the game.
But he would be close.*

*When there wasn't an immediate response, she knocked again, tapping her foot impatiently. What were the servants in this house doing? Sleeping?*

*Henry, as though he owned this place (and he very well could if he felt so inclined to buy it) answered the door. He was (for once) dressed in attire more befitting a man of his station that he had been in as of late.
The sight of Marie was granted a raised eyebrow and a charming smile*
"Such a fine sight to beset my eyes on this day. Pray tell me, my lady, who it is that I have the pleasure of meeting?"

*Marie was struck speechless by the man before her. Someone had told her he was a sight for sore eyes, but she had no idea. Feeling a blush slowly creep into her cheeks, she gave a graceful curtsey*
"Mary Antonia von Hapsburg, my lord. I have come to call upon the master of the house."

*Her name implied, at the least, noble blood. He did not recognize it, but then again that wasn't so uncommon. There were far too many nobles and royals to keep track of these days.
He gave her a courtly bow in return, subtly eying her figure. Petite, but perfect*
"And I am His Majesty King Henry VIII of the Tudors, my lady. What, I wonder, brings you to my door?"

*She swallowed, hopefully not as loudly as it seemed to her ears. She could do this. She was Queen once, she could be as calm and collected as a stone*
"I had heard of your highness' staying here in Paris, and when I learned that none had come to properly greet you, I took it upon myself to do so and correct the rudeness."

*One eyebrow went up at this, and a rather amused smile appeared on his lips*
"I'm actually not at all surprised no one properly greeted me, as you say. I dearsay my arrival was quite...unexpected."
*In truth, he still had no idea how he'd gotten here. But he'd been enjoying Paris far too much to really care about that*

"Oh, unexpected trips can be quite exciting." She responded conversationally.

*He gave her a rather knowing smile*
"Yes they can, my lady."
*Trying not to grin at her blush, he stepped to one side to give her room to pass*
"Forgive my rudeness, would you like to come in?"

*A bit flustered, but doing a good job of shoving the feeling aside, she nodded*
"Oh, of course, your highness."
*It felt strange, calling someone else that. But oddly fun. She stepped past him and into the foyer*

*As she walked by--him taking the opportunity to get a good glance at her backside--he gave a light laugh*
"Please, my lady, I insist that you call me Henry."

*She found the foyer rather impressive, giving it an appreciative look as he followed her indoors*
"Oh...well then, Henry, if you insist then I should insist you call me Mary."

*Henry blessed his good fortune at coming to a place that seemed to be filled with beautiful women*
"I'm happy to oblige, Mary."

*Marie, unlike most sues, was not completely clueless. She recognized that glance from Henry. She privately smiled to herself--he'd charmed her, certainly, but she wasn't as easily won over as he was most certainly thinking.* "So, how does Paris find you, my dear Henry? "
