*The frown disappeared at the sight of Valmont. A John Malkovich, after all, was not an unwelcome thing. She tossed her hair over one shoulder*
"Ah, dear sir, if that is the case then you'd have to work for your supper."

*Valmont ignored the glowering young man behind her.*
"I've never worked a day in my life," *he sniffed.* "My nocturnal activities are more of a hobby, really."

*She leaned against the doorframe, smiling without showing her vampire teeth.*
"Hmmm...but such activities require a bit of sweat and muscle, yes?"

*Valmont smirked.*
"I think you'd find my muscle more than sufficient for the task," *he said, and with a roar the young man was upon him, spinning Valmont into the wall.*

*Norman held Valmont to the wall, one hand on the man's neck, the other twisting Valmont's arm behind his back. He glared over at Maria.*
"The woman's not here," *he snarled.* "Why do you waste time in flirtation with this... this... dandy?"

"It's all in fun, silly Norm. Besides, he might know of or could point us to Holmes or Irene."

*Norman let Valmont go and stalked over to Maria.*
"Fun for you, perhaps," *he said.* "I don't take kindly to being made a fool of to my face."
*He raised a hand to easily catch the candlestick Valmont had swung in his direction.*
"This man knows of nothing but filth."
*Norman pressed Maria against the door.*
"And you are mine."

*Maria narrowed her eyes*
"I wasn't going to do anything with him. Flirting with someone doesn't mean you can throw them around like a sack of potatoes."
*She gave Norman a little push*
"And my heart most certainly belongs to you, but I'll do whatever I wish with the rest of me."

*Valmont produced his rapier and indicated the door.*
"Shall I call security? This is a very nice hotel, equipped with ever so many conveniences."
*Norman snarled. He wanted to kill this man, but Maria's words angered him as well, and he was torn. Not used to so much unrestrained passion. He wrenched the door open and propelled Maria from the flat--but not before Valmont winked at the girl and blew her a kiss.*
"If you had a heart, you wouldn't say such things," *Norman growled.*

*She only managed to throw a look in Valmont's direction before being wrenched outside. Glaring, she tore her arm out of Norman's hand*
"My dear, don't you feel it in your blood as well? Vampires are not meant to be monogamous. Surely, when you see other girls..."
*She trailed off, but her expression was a suggestive one*

*The combination of the old Norman's shame and his own powerful passion made Norman's stomach turn.*
"I've never been with another girl," *he said.* "That man--most men--would use you up without a second thought. I love you."

"Pfft. I am a vampire--I would be using him."
*She touched Norman's cheek tenderly, as though she wasn't angry with him not ten seconds earlier*
"And you can have whatever you want. I won't stop you. But, you are the one that I would die for."

"You drive me crazy," *he said.* "I don't know what to do with you."
