*Kirk ran a hand through his hair. This was not how he worked.*
"Forgive me, then. I fear impatience is a human trait. You must do as you feel is best, of course. I'll keep what watch I can."

*Nessa came over to them, and looked up at Haldir.*
"If you'll excuse us, Haldir, I don't think our guest has gotten any dinner yet. I was about to serve him now."
*She turned to Captain Kirk, offering him her arm, smiling.*
"May I escort you to dinner, Captain Kirk?"

*Kirk smiled down at Nessa before inclining his head at Haldir.*
"Please, let me know what more I can do for you, Captain," *he said.*

*Haldir smiled too.*
"When we investigated the bodies, we found several clues that suggested King Orduag could not have killed Queen Tearbird. And yet... he was the one who would benefit the most on her death. I believe Nessa noticed something I didn't. But she refuse to tell me about it. She claims I will never believe her. Perhaps you could get it out of her?"

*Kirk smiled grimly. Had Nessa heard?*
"I will do what I can, Captain Haldir."
*He turned to Nessa.*
"Now, I would love to enjoy an Elven dinner."

*Nessa stood and looked at the crowd leaving the castle, not listening in to the conversation. When Captain Kirk spoke to her, she turned to him and smiled.*
"I thought you were tired after all the new impressions, so I made a nice meal for us in the tree-house. If you don't mind my company?"
*She smiled, with a twinkle of humor in her beautiful blue eyes.*

***POSTING AS NESSA***
*Nessa giggled at the last part of the sentence*
"Ok, then. Please follow me."
*She took him by the arm*
((To Captain Kirk's tree-house?))

**NEW DAY**
*After breakfast, Nessa and Katya headed out of the room and began to explore the castle of the elves. Katya's breath was absolutely taken away by the beauty and intricate design of the structure. She'd never seen anything like it, in past or present memory she was sure*

*Nessa showed her around, telling her the story of the castle and it's owners, as far as she knew it. She was proud to tell Katya that she was born and raised inside this piece of art.*
"And when we are walking around like this, I can show you who you should stay away from."
*She pointed at a tall, slim man with dark hair and a slick face. His eyes were shifting, and he didn't look trustworthy at all. She whispered to Katya as they passed him:*
"That is Rayek. We call him Wormface, but not to his face, of course. Don't trust him!"

*She listened avidly to Nessa's recounting of the history in the castle, her eyes never ceasing to wander over the loveliness of the halls and corridors. When her friend pointed out Rayek to her, Katya gave Nessa a small nod*
"I'll be careful." She whispered.

*Nessa pulled her friend aside and whispered to her.*
"The way to the throne of Lorien is colored in blood from the innocents. Many people had to die for the rulers to gain their power. They say there is a curse over this castle. After the first blodshed that happened here, no king or queen has been really happy. That happened already during the reign of Orduag's great-grandfather. After King Elrond the Great left Lorien for the Grey Havens."

"Oh, my! I had no idea...I'm so sorry..."
*The speaking of blood, and royalty, suddenly dredged up a memory...a terrible one. With a gasp, Katya stumbled backwards into the nearby wall as she was hit with a barrage of horrifying images in her mind--
--a hail of bullets, her parents, her sisters and brother, going down in a spray of blood and screams, her own body wracked by horrible pain as the bullets hit her, too--
--and then, the images were gone. When she came back to herself, she was huddled against the wall, shuddering*

*Nessa was terrified by her friend's reaction. It had not been her intentions to frightnen her. She wrapped her arms around the girl, holding her close.*
"Katya! Are you ok? Oh my stars! I am so sorry! I didn't mean to frighten you!"
