***NEW DAY***
*Eden wandered through the woods. She was flustered, unsure what to make of this, of everything. Her world had been swept out from under her and she was lost. Now lost both physically and figuratively. She sat on a fallen tree trunk to catch her breath.
She had returned home to fetch that stupid wand, only to find the house empty. She'd come in the back (as to not be followed) and searched from top to bottom, but all was deadly quiet. There was black stuff and a few feathers and it made her nervous, but then she noticed a mark on the floor. And frowned. Upstairs, she found a new cradle and a towel with spittle that confirmed her fears. The stupid baby had been born and they had abandoned her. That was just her luck. Well, screw them. She didn't need them. She gathered a few supplies quickly and started out the house, only to have a second thought. If Lilith (or anyone else) came looking for her, it would be better to be easy to be found. She gathered the needed supplies and cast a spell (one she was rather proud of) to create construct echo of herself. Leaving in it the house, she fled the mansion for the woods of Lorien. She only hoped she could find Figwit. Not that he could really help or anything, but she'd feel better around him. But now that looked like it wouldn't be happening since she couldn't find Lorien, just this really big wooded place. It would have been pretty if it didn't suck so much right now.*

((I have no idea when this takes place!))
*Figwit crept silently through the woods. But he wasn't sneaking--his normal mode of travel left no sound of sign in his wake. He had heard something, in the wind in the trees, that told him there was an intruder. Someone had entered Lorien who did not know its ways, and as he had heard it, he decided to be the one to investigate.
He was surprised, as well as both worried and delighted, to see Eden. He made his stride audible for her as he approached.*
"Eden," *he called softly.* "What is the matter?"

((Sorry, we'll figure it out.))
*She startled at the sound of his voice, jumping up and taking a defensive stance before realizing who it was.*
"Oh! Figwit...I'm sorry."
*She lowered her hands and walked towards him.*
"I hate to come here...but I didn't know where else to go."

*Figwit fell to one knee, his elbow resting easily on the upraised one.*
"Why should you hate to come here? What happened?"

"Daddy...my family...they're all gone. There's a demon queen that's after my mother and they just abandoned me. I didn't know what else to do."
*She pouted.*
Sure as hell couldn't go looking for Pops.

"Gone?" *Figwit echoed.* "Just... without warning? Without word? I cannot believe that."
*He took her hand.*
"You did the right thing, Eden. You will be safe here."

*She was grateful for the hand he offered, but she was still filled with the longing for...something. For some sort of solace.*
"I...I just don't know what to do now...I mean...I can't go back there. Lilith might find me."
And I don't have her stupid wand.
*She looked up at him, her eyes sparkling with threatening tears.*
"Do you...think I might be able to stay here? With you?"

*He felt undone by the unshed tears in her eyes. He had never seen a child cry.*
"Of course," *he said gently.* "As long as you like. And I will help you find your family. But first, we should get home; and you can tell me about this Lilith."
*He considered asking if she wished to be carried, as it would be faster, but knew she would not approve of the gesture.*

*She didn't dare release his hand, but squeezed it as she nodded.*
"Ok, just...show the way."

*Figwit stood and began walking towards the treehouse he had secured for himself. He enjoyed his solitude, especially considering how little he knew the people he was now surrounded with. So he had found his own small flet in a tree removed a little from other habitation, where it was quiet. It was here that he brought Eden.
They stood at the bottom of the tree, and he pointed up.*
"I live there," *he said.* "We shall have to climb." *A rope ladder hung to the ground.*

*Eden felt her cheeks redden. Was a guy asking her back to his place? That was freakin' awesome.*
"That's no problem."
*She smiled with a strange hint of shyness before grabbing the rope and pulling herself up. It wasn't so hard.*

***NEW DAY***
*Business with Thatcher concluded, Icarus stood once again on the borders of Lorien. For a moment, he wondered if being a cat wasn't a good idea after all. It would simplify a lot of things. He sighed heavily.*

*Abraxas sat on a branch looking down at the newly arrived Icarus. He remembered vaguely seeing the man packing before Malefica disappeared, but thought Icarus had changed a lot. The expression on Icarus face, made Abraxas think of Edgar Allen Poe and his favorite poem, "The Raven." In a glimpse of humor he made himself visible on his branch and said in human language with a grave voice.*
"Nevermore."

*Icarus arched his brow, on the defensive and ready to strike if need be.*
"I did not know the elves had taught their animals to speak."

*Abraxas tilted his head and looked at him. If he could bend his beak, he would have smiled.*
"Who says I belong to the elves?"
