*The woods of Lorien were bathed in sunlight. The trees were green and tall. Among the trees there were several narrow paths, that could only be seen by those with a very good eyesight. It would be easy to get lost on these pats, if you didn't know your way...... Small hills and green meadows with flowers of all kinds, and even a river, could be seen among the trees. The animals, the birds and the fishes all felt safe here. This was their home, just as much as the homes of the Elvens....*

*Leetah was wandering about in the forest. She was alone and restless. It had not been fun to return to Lorien after the first feeling of freedom she had felt under the battle. Her brother and the Elven army had gone straight back to the castle. But she had told him she wanted to be alone for a while. What could possibly threaten her here, in peaceful Lorien? She was singing an Elvish song while she wandered about on the well-known paths.*

*Aragorn wandered quietly through the forest. It was a comfort...reminded him of Rivendell. Elven forests were always so peaceful. Perhaps it was their age or the whispered magics of their protectors. He inhaled deeply, resting a moment at the base of a great tree. He could almost smell her hair...his sweet Arwen. His hand caressed the Evenstar that hung against his heart.*
Soon, my love.
*He heard singing. His eyes shot open. No...it couldn't be. Arwen? A vision surely. He blinked twice, and yet her form remained. His spirits lifted as he rose, slipping up behind her silently and wrapping his arms about her waist. He leaned his lips against her ear, whispering to her in fluid elvish which will be typed in English because his sueauthor can't find the quotes she's looking for.*
"My vision...you are a most blessed sight. I have ached only to feel your touch, taste your lips."

*Leetah gasped when she felt his strong arms about her waist. She hadn't seen him coming. Her heart was beating by his touch, and by the words he whispered in her ears.... How had he learned to speak her native tongue? She answered back in Elvish, without breaking free from his embrace.*
"Well, that is very kind of you, but I am afraid you mistake me for someone else. I am not Arwen, just related to her through my bloodline.... Everyone says I am her reincarnation, so I do understand your mistake."

*Confusion took him for a moment before he released her, stepping back respectfully. He bowed.*
"Please...forgive my...I meant to disrespect, my Lady."
*He offered his hand politely.*
"I am Estel, recently arrived from..."
*The words died on his lips in realization.*
"Reincarnation? But...that would mean..."
*The color quickly drained from his face and he stumbled back slightly.*

"I know. Don't worry. My name is Leetah."
*Leetah turned around. When she saw his face, memories of an unknown past filled her mind, and she gasped.*
"Strider?"
*She blushed and looked down for a moment, then she gave him her hand.*
"Foregive me... for a moment I thought...." *she replied confused* "Aragorn...."

*His frown did not lessen at the voicing of his true name. It made his blood run cold. Only Elrond knew. And Arwen...*
"There are some that call me that." *He stammered. He felt like the world had been pulled from beneath him.*

*She looked up at him again, studying him.*
"It feels like I have known you before...." *She said.* "In a former life....."
*Another memory came to her mind.*
"Do you still have the present I gave you? The Evenstar?"

*Aragorn's foot caught a rock behind him and he fell back, landing hard on the grass at her feet.*
"I...this isn't real."
*He shut his eyes, willing it a dream, some terrible nightmare of fatigue.*
"She's not...you're not...she can't be dead."

*Leetah smiled sadly and looked at him with her beautiful green eyes.*
"You are in Lorien now. Death as the humans know it doesn't exist here. Elvens don't die, unless they leave the protection of the Elven forests. But Arwen was too strong to die, so she is still alive, through me. As long as I live, so will she."

*He opened his eyes, the wonder and fear of a child dwelling within them. He shook his head, not understanding.*
"How...why...what happened?"
*He couldn't comprehend what could have happened to his love.*

*Leetah looked at him with her mild, beautiful doe-eyes.*
"When you died, Arwen was mourning you, sitting day and night by your grave, season after season. It was... painful. Everyone pitied her... me.... So one day the High Elves found out the suffering had to stop. By their magic and by ancient Elven wisdom, and by a little help from Gandalf the White, they casted a spell, that would make it possible for Aragorn and Arwen to one day meet again.... I am Arwen's incarnation. What happened with Aragorn, I don't know."

"I...died?"
*His voice was meek and his eyes rolled back. Overwhelmed, he fell back against the grass in a faint.*

"According to the stories, you did. And the entire kingdom mourned with Arwen... me... in her... my... loss."
*She startled when she saw he fainted. Quickly she ran to his side, and found a bottle of water in her dresspocket. She poured the water over his face, hoping to wake him up.*

*Aragorn coughed at the cold, inhaling some of the water as he woke. It had been a dream. She was here and safe in... He looked about and all hope was lost. He pushed her back gently, sitting up.*
"Please...I can't. I should go...try to understand how this could have happened. Why it has..."
