*After some time, Maria stirred from her sleep, grinning to herself as she awoke. It had been a good dream. Yawning, she stretched a bit before sitting up.*
"Mmm...good dreams always make me hungry."

*Norman traced her hair with one hand.*
"It's night," *he murmured.* "And I'm hungry, too."

*She grabbed him in a strong embrace*
"Excellent! We can feast tonight, and perhaps, have a bit of fun on the side."

*Norman hugged her back, trying to dampen his niggling anxiety over what--who--would be Maria's meal. He knew, now, just by looking at her, that this was not Sarah Maria. This woman--her equal, and just as intoxicating--was different. Less conflicted.*
"That sounds lovely," *he said, kissing her.* "Who first?"

*She kissed him back, a cheeky grin on her face*
"How about you first? Then my own antics won't disturb your appetite."
*She rolled the word 'appetite' around her tongue like a savory morsel*

*Norman pulled a shirt on over his head and ran his hand through his hair.*
"Sounds like a plan," *he said, actually a bit thankful.* "That's very considerate of you. I won't take long, I promise."
*In the back of his mind, he was a little concerned about the way he was running his motel. But other things called.*

"You're always welcome, Norm!"
*Smiling still, she quickly got dressed, straightening her hair a bit as it had gotten rather tangled overnight. Crazy wavy hair*

*Norman watched her lovingly. It was fascinating, being granted this view into a woman's private life. It was so different than he'd expected, or seen from keyholes behind walls. But it was endlessly fascinating. When she was done, he opened the door.*
"After you, my lady," *he said goofily.*

*She giggled, giving Norman a grand bow as befitting a dutchess* "Why thank you, my good sir!" *She led the way out of the motel, tossing a happy glance over her shoulder. Everything was going swimmingly. She couldn't ask for better *

**RETURNETHS**
*All smiles, Maria pulled Norman into the room after her, closing the door securely before spinning about with him in her arms*
"This," she said grandly. "Is the first night of the rest of your life!"

*It struck him that this was a rather silly thing to say, since it applied to every night until you died. But he didn't say anything. Indeed, his mind seemed to be grasping at anything to avoid thinking of what was about to happen, even as his heart thumped wildly in his chest in anticipation of it. He longed for the release of her teeth in his neck, his blood pumping into her.
What if he never woke up?
Or better yet, woke up someone else? Not the pitiful creature, Norman Bates, whose mother had hated him and who Maria would surely learn contempt for in time.*

*She pulled him close, their lips almost touching*
"Now, Norman, listen carefully. After I drink up your blood, you'll have to drink mine. No last-minute changing your mind--you will die if you do that. Then you'll feel strange as you change into a vampire. It doesn't hurt, just feels weird. And then...everything will suddenly look sharper, colors better. Life will become HD"

*He nodded, excited and scared in a delectable combination.*
"I understand," *he said.* "I want this. To be with you."
To be enough for you.

*Nodding with a bit more seriousness, she wrapped her arms around Norman and (as gently as was possible) sank her fangs into his neck and began to drink*

*The now-familiar pull of her washed over him, like a blanket he never wished to crawl out from under. He welcomed the gradual weakening of his limbs, the washing away of care and guilt and fear. His hands fluttered helplessly at his side, then stilled.
He wanted to stay like this forever.*
