*Poe stared a moment, as if she could not process something.* "I have no desire to leave until I am fully functional again. I am unsure if I might shift inappropriately and lose my subterfuge. The query was simply concerning you and your meditations." ((Is it bad that I kinda want Poe to get captured by a freak show? I think it's horrible. But it's still kinda intriguing.))

Mulder nodded.
"I'm fine. Thank you, Poe. I just don't think Scully would appreciate using her shape for... Not that I haven't thought about it." He smiled roguishly. "I've been alone a long time. I think I can stand a little company now."
((That would at least give them plot.))

((True that, I'll see what I can do.))
*Poe smiled innocently, not fully understanding except that he wanted her to stay. And that made her...happy? That was strange. She smoothed a hand over the sheets.*
"Perhaps a period of hibernation would help?"

((Too bad the Wanizame/wee!Erik show isn't still in town.))
With the suggestion, Mulder did indeed feel tired. He wondered when he'd slept last. Or eaten properly. Life with Poe was like an endless buffet of sex. Not that that was a bad thing.
"Yeah... Maybe. Some sleep." He squeezed Poe's hand. "Thanks."
He waved towards the bag of groceries. "I don't know if you're going to... hibernate. But if you're hungry, there's food."

((Yeah, but maybe the one that Bonnie Bullet's in has a freak show on the side. It's worth a shot. Or the one Emily used to throw for.))
*Poe shook her head.*
"I have no need of it at the moment. But I might sample what you have provided."
*She smiled and made her way to the bags, digging through them and studying each item in turn.*

"Knock yourself out," Mulder mumbled, stripping to his boxers and sliding under the covers. He missed Scully. And he felt weird about how he hadn't seemed to move from the bed since meeting Poe. But somehow, it didn't seem to matter.
Did you have to seek alien life once it was in your motel room?
((Also, they're now in a vamp motel.))

((True that. Decisions, decisions. I'm torn with having her go out while he sleeps and being kidnapped or them being out together and him having to witness it/being distracted by something else so he isn't able to save her. Thoughts?))
*She grinned up at him with a child-like pleasure.*
"Thank you, sir--Mulder."
*Soon Poe was ripping open packages and shoving all sorts of food into her mouth, making a mess all over the carpet where she sat.*

((Hmm. Well, Norman and them need plot, but I don't know what. If only there was more of a sideshow group. I'll think about it.))
Mulder was entertained by her gastronomic antics enough to be surprised by sleep. Apparently, one did need it occasionally between bouts of sex.

When he woke, Poe was gone.
Mulder attempted to quell his panic. Poe had been fine without him, and they'd been holed up in that room for... well, he wasn't sure how long. So it was a few hours before he began to worry.
Poe wasn't like other people--it was what he liked about her. Aside from the whole alien thing, she was straightforward and curious. And while she was free to go whenever she pleased, he didn't think she'd have left for good without saying anything--she wouldn't have the social strictures that would make her nervous about leaving him to his face.
The idea that she was in trouble became increasingly prevalent in his mind. And so Mulder got dressed and got out.
