*Micaela waited calmly for tea, reading up on her Austen. She realized that she had liked it far better as a 15-year-old girl.*

*Mrs. Danvers entered the room with a tray of tea, showing no exterior sign of their earlier encounter.*
"Your tea, Madam, Please ignore the bitter almond aftertaste." *she said, with a glimmer of deranged excitement in her eyes. Soon, the girl would no longer be a problem.*

*She didn't trust Danvers any farther than she did Erik. In fact, less. She sniffed the tea and took a very, very small sip. She frowned intensely.*
"Why does this tea taste like almond?" *She asked, voice steely. She raised an eyebrow.*

*She smiled coldly.*
"I'm not stupid, Mrs. Danvers. I'm disappointed--you're going to have to try a hell of a lot harder than that to off me." *She said, saccharine-sweet.*

"If you are determined to accuse me of attempting murder, very well. But I am not so unintelligent that I would try something so obvious."
*She gave Micaela an eerie humorless smile.*

"Of course not, Mrs. Danvers. The tea companies have simply attempted to make bitter almond teas." *She said sweetly.* "However, I confess to preferring lemon. Make sure it's served next time." *She was sitting on the divan couch, feet curled under her. She was in a massive Aran sweater and comfortable pants, in addition to the slight baby bump, but she was every inch the mistress of the house.*

**LATER, WITH A TEENAGE ELLIE AFTER A CERTAIN BLAKENEY ATTEMPTED TO KILL HIMSELF**
*Ellie sipped delicately on her tea and made polite conversation with her family. An hour too late, Liam had informed her that they had a guest, but he had yet to make an appearance at tea on the terrace, as it was an unseasonably warm day.*
