*Michael wasn't actually driving, like he was supposed to. He was in the trailer, calming Aithne, who didn't apparently like enclosed places. She calmed under his hands, though he couldn't get anywhere near riding her. When the trailer stopped, he opened the door and waited for his ex-boss's daughter to appear, thanking the First Mate of the ship he'd come in on for driving him.*

*Micaela dragged Scarlett behind her excitedly, happy to be getting back in the thick of the horse world, even if there were only six. She grinned when she caught sight of Michael, running up to him.*
"You look... exactly like your brother." *She said, laughing.* "Scarlett, Michael MacNamara; Michael, Scarlett Booth. And I, as you'll probably have guessed, am Micaela."

Hi! *She smiled and waved at Michael, though she didn't really register anything beyond his name due to her excitement about the horses.*

*He nodded politely at Scarlett.* "Miss Booth. Would you like to see the Horses, Mrs. de Winter?" *He asked, his accent rolling the words and making them broad and rhythmic.*

*Micaela grinned, about the horses and the fact that his accent reminded her of home.*
"I would like nothing better."

*He went and got five of them, leaving Aithne for last. Three powerful but graceful jumpers, and two hunters that could endure jumps as well as long courses. One by one he brought them out, giving their names--Cara, Jamie, and Afton were the jumpers; a mare, a gelding and a stallion, and the hunters were both mares named Brigid and Fionn.*
"And this," *He said grandly as he led the black mare out,* "Is Aithne."
*Aithne was nervois and skittish, and the most dramatically colored amongst the chestnuts and bays, as well as Fionn, the grey.*

Ohhh, she's gorgeous. *She approached the filly, murmuring to her quietly, and gently rubbed her neck. She calmed down quickly under Scarlett's hands. Scarlett turned to Michael.* How old is she?

"Two years, Miss Booth." *He replied, also putting his hand on the horse to shush her, secretly slipping her a sugar cube.*

Just a baby, then. *She smiled and slipped the horse a sugar cube as well, gently rubbing the filly's forehead and continuing to speak to her softly.*

*Micaela was flitting from one horse to another, pretty much ignoring them as she examined them. Her cousin really had sent her the best--she couldn't wait to get them settled.*

*He spoke to the horse in soft Irish, looking her in one deep, dark eye. Scarlett was behind the horse's head and he couldn't see her, but he was acutely aware of her presence when his large, rough hand touched her delicate one for just a second before he drew it back swiftly. He turned a bit red, going back to paying all of his attention to the horse.*
((You get made fun of if you call it Gaelic. I promise.))

*Scarlett, of course, hadn't noticed, and was now silently checking the filly's legs.* She looks good. How was she coming over here?

"Skittish--she only calms down if she's got someone she trusts around...I spent most of the trip in the hold with her. She's quite a holy terror around strangers, usually." *He said.*
*When he was attached to a horse, it showed. He was fiercely protective and devoted to her.*

That was a good idea, staying with her. It wouldn've been awful if she'd banged herself up. *She looked up and smiled.* Have you been working with her?

"Just a little." *He said sheepishly, smiling lopsidedly.* "She's still not well-behaved; I wish I'd done a better job before bringing her here. My brother gave me charge of all of the foals that were the result of the bachelor group--the others were perfectly fine, but she's something else."
