*Hannibal looked around his new cell. It was brighter and cleaner. That was a start. Perhaps Crane wasn’t such a bad guy after all. Or…something. At least he was still allowed his books and his studies. They were a comfort. And things were almost quieter here. And it didn’t smell as funny. Or at least the funny smell was one he was more accustomed to.*

((I'd send in Mina, but I have no excuse.))

*Truly fascinating, what information turned up when one began to dig into a person's whereabouts. Particularly when it was in regards to Holmes--the man seemed to make it a habit of speaking to the most interesting of persons. This case, especially, piqued his interest. Dr. Hannibal Lecter...a most intriguing individual. What information Moriarty had managed to uncover about him made him wonder just what, exactly, Holmes would want with such a man.
The buffoons that the ward had for guards were ridiculously easy to talk his way past--he didn't even have to try very hard to talk circles around them and convince them that he was most certainly allowed here. Finally, after a bit of irritation, Moriarty met his goal.
He tapped is cane on the floor to catch the cell occupant's attention*
"Pardon me, good sir."

*Hannibal had noticed the man in the hall, but had been informed of no visitors so he was not expecting to be addressed. He shut his book calmly and stood, looking the man over. Clean cut, respectable...somewhat like one of his previous visitors. He suppressed his smile.*
"Good afternoon, sir. What can I do for you?"

"A good afternoon, indeed.
I am here because I have discovered that an old acquaintance of mine has visited you. A Detective Holmes. I have been attempting to track him down and I am wondering if you may have any information on him."

*Hannibal glanced first behind the man and then at the room around him.*
"Is there a reason that you think I'll be able to help you? They don't let me out much."
*His lips twisted into a faint smirk.*

"You were in the prison recently, speaking to Holmes. Surely, now, you had a most...interesting...conversation?"
*His exterior was still coolly calm, but his eyes showed a glimmer, as though he enjoyed being vague.*

*Hannibal sighed lightly.*
"You seem to have the unfair advantage then. I am not as acquainted with you or your activities, sir. Perhaps if I knew your name..."
*His brow lifted in expectation.*

"Ah, forgive my rudeness, sir."
*He excecuted a little bow*
"Professor James Moriarty, at your service."

Moriarty...the name was vaguely familiar.
*He bowed his head politely.*
"I assume that I need no introduction, but for the sake of propriety...I am Dr. Hannibal Lecter."
*He gestured to a row of chairs behind the man.*
"Would you care to sit while we talk? Although...I do not know how helpful I will be able to be."

"Yes, one should try to uphold propriety, Doctor. I strive to, though I may slip at times."
*He took a seat, his cane never leaving his hand*
"You may know more than you realise. Often one can have very important information that they find completely irrelevant."
*He paused, as though to gather his thoughts, when in truth he was merely studying the other man*
"I hear tell that there was a rather unfortunate incident involving you and Holmes' ladyfriend. Later, Holmes' came to you himself, ostensibly on her behalf."
*He raised an eyebrow*
"Perhaps you might be willing to tell me what you discussed?"

*Hannibal lifted his brow. Not another hopeless suitor for Irene, surely... He pursed his lips before answering.*
"And what did you bring, sir? Certainly a man as educated as yourself would not expect something for nothing."

"Of course not. One does not get something for nothing."
*Though he remained prim and proper, the small smile that briefly appeared on Moriarty's face was positively malicious.*
"I have collected quite a bit of knowledge on Mr. Holmes. I have, in fact, something that I'm quite sure he'd be most upset to learn has been revealed."

*Hannibal remained stoic as the man offered forward his deal.*
"And what makes you think that Mr. Holmes is inherently of any interest to myself? Would such knowledge do me any good from in here?"
*He smiled slightly.*

*Moriarty inwardly smirked.*
One who knows how to play the game...fantastic.
"Perhaps you might like a way of paying back Miss Irene for her...generosity...towards you. Something affecting Holmes would certainly affect her."
