*He was fully grinning this time*
"I try my best. So, tell me--what have you been doing all these years?"

"A little of this, a little of that," *she said with a shrug.* "I have a garden near here- it's much larger than the one I had back then."

"Not really. I haven't had a lot of customers here. It's a nice break, actually."

*She nodded in agreement.*
"Not that you've done a day's work in your life," *she said condescendingly.*

*Krolock puffed out his chest in mock indignation*
"I take offense to that statement, madame!"

*She let out a snort of laughter. She wouldn't admit it, but she liked the count- he was one of the few people who could make her laugh purposefully. (She laughed at other's misfortunes, sure, but that wasn't the same thing.)*
"I'm glad to see vampirism hasn't drained any humor from you- they usually turn into such whiny self pitying bores."

"I cannot stand those sorts. They act as though all the fun has been sucked out of existence, when becoming a vampire has the opposite effect. This,"

"All alone in the same dark, cold, gloomy castle for the rest of your existance?" *she teased with a smirk.* "What fun."

*Krolock snorted at her. She was so sarcastic. It was refreshing*
"Of course not. I had much more than this, but for whatever reason it all vanished when the castle and myself was brought here to Paris."
*He frowned*
"I don't even know where Herbert's gotten off to."

*She frowned in thought for a moment, then looked up.* "I knew that boy seemed familiar," *she said, snapping her fingers.* "I ran into him when I first arrived," *she explained.*

*He stopped walking, and turned to the Witch, his expression calm but his eyes showing his interest*
"Oh? Where did you see him?"

"A cheap diner type place. The name of it sounded vaguely German, which, I assume was why he went there in the first place. He... took a liking to the man I was with."

*Krolock sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose*
"That boy will be the end of me."
*He eyed the Witch levelly*
"Please tell me was behaving himself."
