*Poe heard something. That was strange. And that smell...unfamiliar. She opened her eyes quickly, ready to take on whatever was coming. But this wasn't right. She was...somewhere else. A castle of stone, darkened, but not unpleasant. She took a few steps down the hall. There were carvings that looked half-familiar and she strained her mind in understanding. She twisted her face in trying to recall them. They looked almost Giddish, but they couldn’t be. This was obviously not a Giddish castle. She pursed her lips in frustration.*
I know that I have seen them before. Long ago. Hmm…

*Why strangers kept coming to his castle uninvited, he did not know, and he did not like it. He liked his privacy, and when it was interrupted, he got annoyed. He appeared behind the woman.*
"What brings you here, Giddian?"

*Poe turned sharply to face the man that addressed her by her true self. It surprised her. But then again, so did the fact that he wasn't a man. Not really. He looked a bit different, certainly, but there was no mistaking the King of Dreams. And then it made sense. That was where she had seen the engravings...in his temples on Giddy'. But how was she...? It was not her place to be here, that honor reserved only for the priests in his service. Her brow furrowed.*
"I am not certain, most revered Sir, for I would never intentionally enter without invitation. Perhaps the world I am visiting is in too near proximity to the Veil. Forgive me, I did not intend to trespass."

*Morpheus nodded.*
"Calm yourself, Poethenia Narhurla. If your intrusion was unintentional, there is nothing to punish you for. Other dreamers have found their way here as well."

*Poe lowered her eyes reverently at hearing her name on the lips of one so divine.*
"Thank you for your understanding, most honored Sir. I will endeavor to think not so hard in my resting in the future."
*Her curiosity got the best of her, after all, it was what she was bred to do.*
"How is it that you are so close to this world, that I and others might violate you so without proper rite or invitation?"

"Honestly, I am not sure. It is true that anyone may find themselves here by chance, but as of late, the dreamers on Earth have arrived more frequently than I am comfortable with."

*Poe's jaw set sternly. How dare these humans defile such a sacred place? It was abomination. She spoke with purpose, her blossoming anger reined in.*
"Most gracious Sir, please...if there is something I might do to aid you in finding the cause and alleviating the strain that it puts upon your mind and your household, I am your devoted servant. I am fully functional and will serve in any manner that you would have me. I will not idly observe this abomination, no matter how my nature might demand I do so."

*He put a hand on her arm for a brief moment to calm her.*
"Their intrusion is hardly an abomination, lady Narhurla. They come and go, just as you have now. And while your offer to serve me is flattering, I have little use for a collector."

*Poe was sobered by his touch and his words, lowering her face vexed at her own ineptness.*
"Forgive me, revered Sir, I did not mean...you are of course correct. There is nothing for me to do for you. Save excuse myself from your presence that I may not longer prove tedious to your Grace. Show me how I might leave, and I will bother you no more."
*She lifted her face to him once more, her expression cool and indifferent, the model of efficiency.*

*He thought a moment.*
"Wait a moment- I may have use for you after all. Are you familiar with the city of Paris, on Earth?"

*Poe tilted her head slightly.*
"I am in the process of learning it, most gracious Sir. It is why I was sent here, but I am newly arrived. I will do whatever I can with the limited knowledge I have collected, should it please you."

"Hmm. Then it is a strange city indeed. Three dreamers have arrived from there in as many nights, and other odd things have happened there. I want to know what makes the city special."

That's easy. It's full of Sues.
*Poe nodded obediently.*
"Of course, noble Sir. I will see to it. Do you have any information that would be helpful, such as items or rites that weaken the Veil...something that might be breeching it? It would be a place to start. Otherwise, I will research it on my own and report back to you with anything I might find. How would you wish me to contact you in such a case?"

"There are a number of creatures that the inhabitants of the city would call supernatural. A ghost has been invading the dreams of two if his enemies. A gathering of their gods and so-called immortals is taking place. I want to know if these events are connected, and how."
*He gave her what was nearly a smile.*
"Your assistance in these matters is much appreciated."

"It is my honor, glorious Sir."
*Poe offered a formal Giddish bow, her hands crossed over her chest.*
"How would you like me to transmit any information that I find?"
