*Enjolras sat on his bed, resting his head in his hands.*
"I'm going mad."
*The bed which he'd shared with his wife for far too short a time was half-abandoned... her things were still out as if she could return any day. As much as he lied to himself, he couldn't help feeling as if she'd never be back here again.*
"God damn it, Bella, I need you..." *Tears appeared in his eyes and he made no effort to wipe them away.*

*And of course, a note from his now-runaway daughter appeared to make the situation that much angstier.*
Father, I'm alive. I'm safe. Don't come looking for me. I mean it. Leave me alone. Adrienne

*Enjolras nearly went and found some sort of razorblade. Without his daughter, there was no longer a reason for him to exist. Up until this point, all he'd wanted to do was protect her... *
*She was alive, he knew. But he couldn't possibly stay here, in this house that he'd kept her in, in Paris where so much of Bella still lingered. He grabbed the messenger and violently shook a promise to deliver a message to Adi out of him.*
Adrienne- I don't know where you are. I've managed to convince the messenger to give you this note.
I cannot remain in the city where I've tried my best to bring you up. Memories of your brother and mother haunt this place and this house like ghosts, and though I know your mother is still alive, there is no hope of her returning to us. I only wish you to know that you've left a father who loves you very dearly without a reason to stay... if you are lost to me then I no longer have purpose.
I have retired to the family Chateau in the Loire river valley with only a handful of servants. In fact, only our butler, the maid, and one maid. Your mother's medical bills will all be charged to my bank and you still have access to all family accounts, save that set aside for your dowry.
I do not intend upon returning.
I remain your adoring father,
Le Compte Gustave-Vincent d'Enjolras

*He opened the door and went in to sit on the bed, gazing at the empty fireplace blankly. He'd forgotten to close the door behind him.*

*Belladonna stood awkwardly in the doorway, knocking lightly on the open door.*

*He looked up and met her gaze momentarily.*
"Hello." *He said brokenly. He stood, as decorum required.*

Hi. *She stepped into the room hesitantly, meeting his eyes shyly.* I just...you seem so sad. I just wanted to know if- if there was anything I could do?

"Not in your power, B... Madame."

I see. *She glanced up at him.* And please- don't call me Madame, it sounds so cold. Bella is fine. You know Bella is fine.

*He winced.*
"Bella." *He repeated, unable to stop himself. The way he said it... there was no questioning the feelings involved.*

Right. *She nodded, unsure of what to do. What could she do?* Well...

"I'm sorry. If you'd like to look around... I can leave." *He said softly. She was the only person he'd ever spoken like that to... before the amnesia. Even Adi hadn't heard the one tone he reserved especially for his wife.*

No, no, it's fine. *She smiled sweetly.*

**ENJY**
*He smiled half-heartedly at her, and the false smile was gone within seconds. It was more than he'd even attempted to smile in months.*
"Did you need anything?"

No, I was just...making sure you're alright.
