Hallie walked into the empty house and looked around. It was rather lonely, especially with the knowledge that nobody would be coming to be with her. Sighing forlornly, she walked into the room she and John had shared and lied down on the bed. What was she going to do with herself now? Life without the man she loved seemed unbearable. Suddenly, a question popped into her mind. What if he hadn't really loved her? Alarmed by this sudden thought, she opened the drawer of his nightstand and began digging through, hoping to find a diary of some sort. Reaching the bottom of the drawer, she found no such item. However, a small box caught her attention.
It was black velvet, and rounded at the top. Picking it up, Hallie opened it to find a beautiful diamond ring sitting in a bed of white silk. Butterflies fluttering in her stomach, she picked up the ring and looked at it. On the part that would face the wearer's finger were engraved the words, "Hallie—Will you marry me?" She stared at the words, wondering if perhaps she needed glasses. She began to tear up, knowing that, had he asked, she would have said yes. As a teardrop began to make its way down her cheek, she slipped the ring on and smiled. "Yes," she whispered to herself.
((*gag* Good thing she's a Sue, or I'd be very ashamed of this. XD))

((Ah, but it was a not-scene. It doesn't count. ))
