*Eponine crept in, carrying several large packages, many upopened and the others rewrapped. She set them in front of John's door with a sigh and then took out the letter she had written.*
Dear John-
I've left the clothing and other various things that you bought me ouside, as I hope you can see. I see no reason to keep it, as I have my own job and means to support myself and my baby.
Let me explain my actions last night--firstly, that man was nobody new that I sent after you. That happened to be my best friend Marius, and he was simply doing what he thought was right. He does that often. Otherwise, he wouldn't have gotten himself involved in a revolution.
Secondly-- I came to a realization soon after I informed you of my pregnancy. Two things came to my attention: that you had a been carrying on another relationship at the same time as ours and that you had already fathered twins, whom I have met. I happen to be assigned to be cheking in on them every few weeks. My realization? That I didn't want you involved in my child's life.
I was planning on talking to you about these things, but things came to a boil before I anticipated. If you still wish to, you may send money, but I do not excpect you to in any way. If you should want to see the child at any time, you may write me at my new address, which I have included on a seperate piece of paper.
I want you to know that I do not regret our short-lived relationship, and I hope that, like me, you look on it with mostly fond memories.
Yours,
Eponine.
*she sighed, set the letter down, and left as quickly as she had come.*
