*with a quiet pop, a beautiful woman dressed in a toga appeared in the closet. she raised one eyebrow at Virginia's position and behavior, and said, in a subtle, seductive voice:*
"Dear, either you are absolutely deplorable in the art of back massage, or you and that man have some history that is somewhat of an... obstacle. either way, i'm the one you want to talk to."

*Virginia wheeled about and bit back a scream.*
"I...I...who are you? How did you get in here?"

*she rolled her eyes.*
"Stupid Frenchies... I'm Aprodite. the Goddess of Love and Sex and Pleasure. And basically, i'm the patron saint of all those women of the streets and madame's houses. I got in here because i'm a goddess." *she snapped her fingers and appeared on the other side of the tiny closet. snapping them once again, she was back to her original spot, but in a completely different outfit which made no secret of her cleavage, kind of like gin's in her icon much more modern in style. "I hate corsets... why do you people wear them?"

"I...don't know...?" *stammered Virginia, everything she knew about theology going *bzzrt* rather painfully within the confines of her skull.*

"Oh, gods, you're going through that stupid theological shock... I knew I shouldn't have come to a catholic country. I. Hate. Constantine. He was a little whore who sucked in bed and had a fetish for christian women."
*she pushed her hair off her face exasparatedly.*
"So who's the boy out there, why are you afrad of him, and, more importantly, why did you hide in a closet?"

"I...I'm not afraid of him," *she said quietly.* "I just...his feelings will be hurt less if he just leaves and forgets that I'm here. I hid in the closet because it was the nearest door, and...and he was between me and the other door."
*Virginia crossed the tiny room and sat on a small low bench along one wall.*
"He's my ex-fiance," *she explained.*

*Aphrodite looked at her sympathetically.*
"nobody ever forgets. take it from me... it's quite impossible for him to forget, unless i... well, we won't get into that. you may be a woman, but you have every right to walk out there and ask him to leave, instead of hiding in the closet. men are stubborn. he'll wait unless somebody forcibly removes him."

"But...he won't go if I just ask him to. He's not like that. He doesn't take direction well. Especially from me," *she said.*

"Well. I can see why you picked him. As long as we're in a closet, you mind giving me a rundown of the basic facts i should know?"

"Um...well, where to start? I was going to be a nun. Then I met Declan, and, well...things happened. We never really got along well--when we weren't fighting, we, um...you know. Naturally, I thought this meant I was in love with him...so eventually we got engaged. Then Faye--Faye was my best friend, like a sister to me--she was..." *Gin gulped and spoke softly.* "...murdered. It made me realize life is too short to go after anything less than your dreams. I've always wanted to help as many people as I can. If I married Declan, I'd only ever be trying to help him--and he is who he is. I could never change that. I only wanted to help him. But marriage would have made us both miserable, eventually. People can't change completely, and...I don't know. In any case, I came here to speak with Sylvia, who had been so kind to me. She spoke of how she helped others...and I thought I could--can--too."
*Virginia exhaled lightly.*
"And now...this happens."

"Well, that's not exactly convenient. Sex does help others, i suppose... hah. what am i talking about, i suppose? i know three times as many positions as the kama sutra. Sex makes people happy, stimulation makes people happy. I support your decision to go with your dreams, and i apologize for your loss. Persephone's my friend, if you wanted me to, i could find out where she went... Elysian fields, Erebus, or whatever's in between. So. Should we wait for him to leave? Sometimes we just have to confront the past, instead of running away from it. I should know. I am in charge of these things."

"You mean...go out there?" *Virginia frowned for a moment.* "You're right. I'm a professional."
*She glanced down and saw the pile of clothes beside her on the bench.*
"Oh. He might need these."
*She stood and took the clothes. She took a deep breath, then moved the chair and flung open the door. She shoved the bundle of clothes into Declan's hands then went to the door leading to the hall and opened it.*
"Leave. Please." *she said tightly.*

*Stands by the open door, her arms crossed. Despite the dark blue robe being rather close-fitting, it didn't reveal much, and she didn't LOOK much like one might imagine a lady of the evening to appear.*

((Whew, sorry for abruptly leaving you yesterday. I vomited four times after I turned off the computer. Yay for me. -__-))
Declan snatched his clothes from Virginia's hands.
"Were you talking to someone in there?"
