*Micaela knew she was already overextended, but the Opera wasn't pringing much money yet and she needed a job. Badly. She couldn't pay her rent properly and definitely couldn't pay for vocal lessons. She was starting to dip into a savings account which she had promised not to touch. She entered the inn and looked around.*
*She walked up to the front desk and rang the bell.* "Hello?"

*Brandi came in to answer the bell with a bright smile because she was finally off work and on the 'verse!.*
"How may I help you?"

*She smiled and nodded.*
"Bonjour. I was wondering if there were any part-time positions available at your inn."

"Always."
*Brandi grinned and offered her hand.*
"I'm Brandi. What sort of work are you looking for?"

*Micaela smiled and took it.*
"I'm Micaela--and anything part-time and mostly flexible would work. The Opera world keeps odd hours, and I've been looking for another job able to work around them."

*Brandi smiled and nodded, completely understanding.*
"No worries, I am in a similar situation. Just...without the singing."
And more incest.
*She gestured towards the kitchen.*
"Tea? Something else?"

*Micaela smiled.*
"Tea, thank you. With lemon and honey, if you have it."

*Brandi smiled and led the way.*
"Of course I do. Please, have a seat."
*She put the kettle on, speaking as she worked.*
"So what sort of skills do you have?"

*Micaela thought for a moment.*
"I was educated as a boy in England, I speak French, English, German, Italian, Latin, and some Greek and Spanish. I can cook well, especially desserts and breakfast foods, and I worked as a maid for a british family for a few months after I left school and was trying to hop a steamship over the channel. I play Piano, Violin, and some Guitar, and I sing soprano, alto, and tenor. I compose too, but most of that doesn't help you, except maybe the cooking and maid part." *She babbled.* "Sorry, I tend to blather on. Family trait."

*Brandi laughed lightly.*
"I think I heard cook and clean in there somewhere. I always need extra hands at both on occasion."
*She glanced back to her.*
"Will you need a room?"

*Micaela shook her head.*
"No, I rent an apartment in the Quartier Latin. I'm busy a lot during the week, the hours of rehearsal are never regular, but I'm always free on the weekends and on Wednesdays."

*Brandi laughed lightly and steeped the tea.*
"That'll be fine. How much do you need?"
*She pulled down a cup and saucer as well as the lemon and honey.*

*Micaela shrugged.*
"Whatever you think appropriate for Wednesdays and weekends. I'm flexible, and the idea of starving oddly doesn't seem to upset me. Comes with the profession." *She joked.*

*Brandi gave her an odd look, but smiled.*
"Well...the thing of it is that I don't pay my other employees. It's in exchange for room and board. But if you'll let me know how much you need to be comfortable, I'm sure we can come to some agreement."

*Micaela laughed softly.* "Oh, I get it. Um... is (insert feasible wage from the 1870s here) okay?"
