*Cry-baby sneered in reaction to the word "opera."*
"Can't say I blame you. But we'll have you fixed up here in no time. You think other folks'd like some good old rock 'n roll here?"

"Oh god yes, I know there's a lot of people that would appreciate a break from that opera stuff!" She smiled "I used to be in a punk band you know, I wrote and sang, but it's not exactly rock n' roll is it?" She laughed

"Punk band?" *Cry-baby repeated.* "Sounds loud, but I don't rightly know what you mean."

"Oh it is loud, it's not exactly rhythm, nor is it blues, it's more for the kids who want to make a stand. Most singers can't sing, and it's not always on beat, but it's a lot of fun." She smiled.
"If there's anything I can do to help-" she stopped at looked at him with a sincere smile "-I'm here, I think I owe it to you."

*He waved a hand in denial, then looked up up and down.*
"What do you play?"
*This "punk" thing sounded... Intriguing. Raw.*

"I played bass, but I was actually lead singer, I broke my bass in practice, by getting it smashed against my back, I upset the drummer." ((True Story)) She went and poured herself another cup of tea "More coffee?"

*Cry-baby's eyes widened, impressed despite his cool facade.*
"Upset the drummer?" *he quoted.* "Man, that's... that's hardcore. Got a bass player already, I think, but you got somethin' else you can do? I mean, other than sing lead, 'course. That's my job."
*He waved away the coffee.*
"Naw, I'm wired already. Thanks."

"Thanks" Jess blushed a bit "Well I can dance, play tamborine ((also true)), sing backup, and am all right at a little bit of everything" she scrunched her face up "You know it really sucks that I left everything in the dressing room at the opera." She sighed "I could show you some pictures of those days."

Jess clapped her hands together "That would be great! I've been wanting to get back in to performing for a while, but lately, as you've seen, my confidence has been crap." She hadn't cursed in a while and it felt good, although... it was only crap.
She jumped up from the table and ran over and hugged Cry Baby tightly before pulling off a little flustered "Sorry I get excited."

*He patted her back.*
"'Sokay. I mean, you'll be performing with Cry-Baby Walker. Ain't nothin' to take lightly. You just bottle up that nervous energy for the stage, and you'll do fine."

"Now I don't have stage fright, I'm not afraid of people that's for sure." Jess smiled, he was gorgeous, she thought of Bruce... "You've been great, Brandi's a lucky girl to have you."

*Cry-baby hoped he wasn't blushing.*
"Guess that works both ways," *he said.* "You ain't so bad, yourself."

Jess knew she was blushing "Thank's" she looked at her watch and shook her head "I should have been at work an hour ago" rolling her eyes she looked over at Cry Baby "Maybe we can go out for drinks one day, just as friends of course, and non alcoholic if that's what you prefer."

*Cry-baby blinked.*
"Don't mind a little liquor. 'Swhen pretty girls're getting all confused over it I take issue."
*He pushed off from the wall, and set down the coffee cup with a little nod.*
"Thanks for the coffee," *he said.* "You run on to work, now, and later I'll have a practice set up."
