"Nope," *he smiled.* "Long as there's caffeine involved, I'm happy. Thanks. For the coffee."

Jess put the instant coffee in the cup and poured the hot water over it handing it to Cry Baby before she poured herself a cup of tea and sat down "Usually coffee works for the hangover, but I can't drink the stuff, messes up muh tummy" she giggled slightly and took a sip "Oh that's good."

*Cry-baby wrinkled his nose.*
"And tea don't?"
*He knocked back his coffee and shook his head.*
"That's the stuff. Nice an' strong, just how I like it. How you feelin' today, Jess? About that stuff you said last night? I mean, your direction and all."

"Oh yea" she looked down "I'm feeling better, but I'm still very confused, I mean I thought I had everything planned out" she sniffled and rubbed her nose against her arm "but then I go all crazy and things get all out of whack." She knew that she wasn't making any sense, but she was doing the best she could simply trying to remember what she said.
"I'm not like that all the time, all emotional and silly, I just need a good shoulder, you just happened to be that shoulder."

((I love you.))
"I guess maybe I could, would you like to read one of my poems?"
((WARNING REAL WRITING OF THE REAL JESS, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Also there are a lot of spelling and grammar errors since I haven't EVER edited this one, haha.))
Jess opened up a composition notebook overflowing with random papers, candy wrappers and dried out flowers. "I wrote this one a while ago" she handed him the book to the poem she wanted him to read "Don't be too harsh."
The bass boomed slowly against the cafe walls a woman sat next to a man in a beret her hand caressing his arm she smiled and stroked his face The saxophone played a soulful tune and the people danced The songstress stood on stage and belted out amongst the sweat a story of love and lonliness as the people danced The music faded slowly and the woman stood to her feet the man in the beret asked her not to go but she ignored his pleas she walked slowly up to the stage Her pale skin reflecting in the red vases and stained glass she smelled the air full of smoke, and the ashes of lungs The songstress slowly backed away from the microphone as the woman pulled the fur farther around her neck so that her breastbone stuck out among her wisend body there was a small rip in her pantyhose she didn't notice her mouth laid up against the microphone and asked the band to play her favorite song a slow melody began to seep from the pipes and percussion and the cafe was silent it started off slow as the beat began to rise up her voice hit hard amongst the mic and beauty came falling out like a sirens song she began to sing
"Keep me sleeping I no longer love the reaper home is nowhere and I think its enough take me to your soul just don't let me go just take me somewhere"
She kept her eyes closed as did the cafe each person felt the serenity of her voice consume their bodys the man in the beret felt the tears fall from his eyes She felt his tears fall in to his lap and she began to cry Each person knew the story and no one danced
"Why is the sun blocking heaven its this home where angels fall to haven coming going loosing falling are they lost among the mauling"
as the guitar faded leaving the strings to twine she soothed her faded soul and smiled again the cafe sat silent until she came off the stage and walked back to the man in the beret he grabbed her hand and put it to his face and exclaimed that she was of the angels grace but she knew better and made no attempt to answer as the people moved on and danced through the mercy of closed eyes

*Cry-baby read the poem slowly, his eyes tracking back and forth. It made him feel kinda stupid. But he knew one thing. He looked up at Jess and a little line appeared between his brows.*
"I don't know nothing' about poetry," *he said,* "but is it allowed to be so... sexy?"

She giggled "Yes, that's sort of the point, it's about love and death, that we shouldn't fear our own mortality and we should accept our own beauty and love who we are, and love the people around us." She looked away "It's a strange concept."

*Cry-baby watched her a moment.*
"No, I get that," *he said.* "Didn't do so good in school, but I know what you're sayin'. And I couldn't write a poem like that."

"I was never great in school either" she looked up at him, her eyes barreling in to his "I just write what I feel you know?" she took a sip of her tea and looked out the window "So what are you going to do today?"

"Hey. It's like my songs. Ain't much, maybe--my songs, I mean, not your poems--but they're right from the gut, y'know?"
*He crossed his arms casually.* "Speakin' of which, I think Brandi and me are gonna get things sorted out for havin' rock shows here."

"Really?!" Jess exclaimed causing the pain in her head to throb "That would be awesome, ever since I got here, it's all been opera, I can't stand it anymore." She smiled happily at Cry Baby.
