"You've definitely made my life more dramatic, but I'm not complaining, before you, I would have been dead from boredom."
I would have been dead.
He blinked, he hadn't expected that thought to come up again and he shook his head and smiled "I love you."

Having read The Great Gatsby, Sarah could appreciate the full impact of what he said, and overcome with a sudden rush of emotion, she reached out to hug him, even though it hurt.
"I love you, too."

Still smiling he wrapped his arms around her softly and returned the hug, before helping her lay back down "You should get some rest."

"I'll do that....and when we get home, I'm putting some freaking warding spells around the house...keep out the drama-making riff raff..."

"Sounds like a plan" he smiled and went around the corner nodding at Spike again, smiling sadly at the still sleeping Sunflower and then to his own bed.

*Spike nodded back to the man in kind, but his mind was thoroughly preoccupied. He wondered how long they would keep him here. And how long it would take him to heal up. Every night until then would potentially be worse for Buffy. And her victims.*

((Should we fast-forward? There's not a whole lot left to do at the hospital))

**FAST-FORWARD**
It took quite some time before the infirmary would allowed Sarah and Sunflower out, but eventually the staff felt confident enough to let them go (but with stern words about taking it easy at home for a while longer).
That was just fine with Sarah, who really only wanted to get things back to normal (or as near to it as was possible on the 'verse) and get things moving again. She was already dressed and ready to go early in the morning. Tired of the hospital, she was really wanting to see the Gatsby Estate again.

Sunflower had dressed earlier and had been sitting in her bed waiting for Sarah to finish dressing "Are you finished yeeeet?"

"Yeeees." She drawled, strolling up.
"Waiting for the word 'go', now."

"Probably up to her eyeballs in work. I swear, this place needs a better staffing department--one that doesn't hire just one person and then overwork them."
