In fear, or in sorrow?
Because when we started discussing Alexander in my history class I was all "Alexandros...greatest...general....SQUEE!"
*sighs* Is it bad that I get the worst crushes on dead men?

For the longest time when I was about ten, I had a crush on Ramses the Great. I really don't know why.
And Alexandros is actually a pretty hot name. Although that's my brother's name, so it loses some points in that department. I like Ramses, too. Achilles is a sexy name, as well, especially when it's spelled Akhilleus in certain translatons.

Heck, for years I had crushes on Oscar Wilde and Edgar Degas.

We're all a bunch of freaks, with our crushes on dead people.
Yeah, huge crush on Alexandros. Also on Achilles (Troy is possibly the worst movie ever made, IMO), and big, big crush on Bouddicca.

Yeah, I saw Troy for the first time a couple months ago... definitely some giggles in there. For some reason I just about died laughing when Achilles was outside the walls screaming "HEEEECTOOOORRRRR!" I read the Iliad in school and liked it, which made me go "wait, WTF?" several times during the film.

That part was SO funny. Not to mention that it was Mr. Moody himself, Brad Pitt, howling that out. God, I hate that actor.
But yes, parts of that movie made me snicker too.

Somehow I'm reminded of a webcomic I saw somewhere with a bunch of kids watching Troy and there's one kid in the front row yelling "WRONG! WRONG! IT'S ALL WRONG! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS! WRONG WRONG WRONG!"

HA! They're so right. I remember when I saw Troy in the theater. I was with a Illiad virgin and a history professor who did her dissertation on Troy. The reactions were quite varied, but by the end, the entire audience was throwing popcorn at the screen.

About when did it come out in theatres? I can't remember--but I could probably find the comic, then, if I had a month to work with.

Crap...can't find it.
Anyone else getting weird re-sets of the webpage? Like, I navigate to another page for a minute, then when I come back it's showing me all the new messages from ten minutes ago and I'm signed in under another account...if I refresh it and log out and log in again, it goes back to normal.

It is soooooooo cold today. I hate cold! Plus, for some reason I had this overwhelming desire to write out a story on this bench in my backyard, which happened to be in the shade, and I couldn't not do it, because it's the first time I've wanted to write a story in like a month and a half, and then it just got too cold and so now the plot bunny has hopped away but left me a little easter egg which may or may not have the good candy inside of it ;D

I wanted to wear a sweater this morning and nearly sweated to death. Fracking Indian summer.
