"I did not mean to offend mademoiselle, it's just that I've never run in to a woman who-"

He sighed, he had been around a lot of people before, all through the 1900's and 20th century he had seen un-married pregnant women, but he had never talked to them. Although he saw the modern day, his medieval morals stuck with him, well the ones that he had.
"I once again apologize I did not mean to upset you."

"Well you have!" She suddenly exclaimed "Do you know how hard it is to walk around, with child, knowing that there will be no father there to care for it?" She looked at his clothes and face and laughed "You probably have no idea what it's even like to live without something, to live without anything!"

Edward was stunned "What right do you have to judge me?"

"And what right do YOU have to judge me?!" She threw down her knitting needles and cursed something in spanish. "Is it your "status" that allows you to look down on me and tell me what I should think? How I should dress and feel?"

"No but you've thought it" she stared at him with wide eyes "You've lived your life in luxury, haven't you? If you wanted something all you had to do was bat an eye lash or snap and BAM there it was! My entire life, do you hear me? My entire life I have barely scraped by and now! I must provide not only for myself, but for a child."

Edward could barely believe the audacity of this woman, he had simply inquired as to if she should be drinking, and now she was teaching him life lessons. "Listen mademoiselle, I do not see how it is any concern of mine weather you eat or not."

"Nor is it any concern of yours as to what I do to my body" she snapped, realizing she had stood on her feet. She sat down slowly, her eyes never leaving his "You people, come here and look at us like we are rats in a cage" she laughed "and we watch you as if you are angels on parade. Golden Geese flying so much higher than the rest of us, and you relish in it."

Edward ignored her last comment "All I asked was if you should be drinking, I did not ask for a lesson in sociology" he sneered "you peasants are all the same, you ask so much of us and we try for you with all that we have." He said truly believing his words.

At this Lorelei broke out in to a deep laughter "You, haha, try, oh dios you try with all you have?" She continued laughing for a quite a time before finally pulling herself together.
"Then why are there people starving in the streets? Homeless, prositutes, rapists, murderes and child abductors? If you try with all you have, then we would not have these problems, senor."

"Once again it is not my fault" he said solemnly "you people were born in to the lower class, I simply happened to be born in to money, is that my crime? To have money?"
