Lorelei sat silently in the gardens, her mind a buzz with information. She had made enough money to pay for a doctors visit in which they told her that her baby was more than fine. It was in perfect health and that whatever she was doing, to keep it up.
She of course thought she should probably lay off the red wine. She took a bite of a croissont roll and a drink from a small flask, water, and smiled. It was a beautiful day out and she wondered what Wilbur was doing.

Edward was moving seductively through the gardens of the opera house, a giant smile on his face. Of course this meant what we all know it means and needs no explanation. He looked over to see a young woman sitting on a bench eating and grinned her way. "Good Afternoon!" He exclaimed startling the woman.

Lorelei jumped and dropped her croissant on the ground "Madre mia" she mumbled as she picked it up and tried to dust it off, but it was a lost cause so she set it down next to her.

"Oh dear!" He pouted "I'm quite sorry my dear, I did not mean to startle you."

"Well senor, you did and now I've lost my lunch" she sighed "but it's all right, I may not be able to eat it, but the birds will." She took the crossiant and began pulling it in to peices and throwing it to the pigeons and other birds that sat across the way from her.

Edward looked at the woman slightly confused "Why should anyone feed such creatures, shouldn't they be able to fend for themselves?"

Lorelei hmph'd at the man and shook her head "Some of these birds would probably never eat if it weren't for people such as myself" she continued to throw the bread to them.

Another puzzled look.
"Can they not feed on worms and mice and such?"

"You are thinking of owls, pigeons do not each mice, if they find a worm, it is in the rare gardens such as this one."
Shaking her head she finished breaking the crossaint and took a drink of her water.

Edward looked at the woman and then to her flask and then finally to her stomach "Should you be drinking?"

"But I am thirsty, why shouldn't I drink?" She looked at the flask and then giggled "Oh no senor, this is not liqour, it's water."
She put the flask back in her purse and cracked her neck loudly "Oh gosh, these benches are not good for the back" she said to no one in particular.

Edward made a circle with his mouth to indicate the word "oh" but nothing but a jumbled of letters came out as Lorelei cracked her neck. Oh how lady like.

Lorelei turned to the strange man "Are you going to stand there and stare at me?" She said almost defensively. He made her quite uncomfortable.

"Oh pardon me madame" he sat down on a bench across from her and grinned.

"Not Madame" she said suddenly and pulled two knitting needles out of her purse and began to knit.
