Syd stood with a wide stance aiming her 9mm at a target she set up 25 meters away...

Sophie stumbled outside onto a small empty field. ((not very original but whatever. ;D))
She noticed another woman out there also, positioned to shoot her gun at a target that Sophie couldn't see from where she stood.

Sydney heard her come onto the field but didn't pay any attention.
She aimed her gun at the centre of the target and shot...hitting it dead centre. Syd lowered her gun and ejected her magazine after sensing a slight problem during the shoot. She still did not looked at the girl, "So...what brings you to the opera?"

Sophie just stood there stunned in awe. When she did find her voice, she stuttered the first words.
"Y-You know, s-seeking out a new life, starting over, whatever you prefer to call it." She quickly switched to another subject. "But how did you... do that? That was amazing!"

Sydney smiled and stated simply, "Experience."
She finally turned to her, "Wanna try your hand at it?" Syd asked in a friendly tone.

Sophie shrugged. "Umm... sure!"

"Alright. For starters, a .22 is best. The recoil, or the kickback is much easier to handle," Syd said, taking out her black Ruger.
"A few safety rules first: Never hand a gun muzzle first," she said pointing at the tip of the gun, "Also, always check whether or not a gun is loaded." she ejected the magazine, showed her ten rounds in it and pushed it back into the gun.
"Alright, let's see your form," Syd handed her the .22.

Sophie took the .22 warily and just stared at it for a few seconds. "What an odd-looking weapon," she stated.
She tried to imitate Sydney's posture. "By the way, I'm Sophie." She grinned. "I must say, this position feels a bit unnatural but that's undoubtedly because I've never had to stand this way before."

Syd smiled, "Sydney. It's nice to meet you."
She raised her 9mm and demonstrated, "Raise your arms, right hand on the trigger and your left over your right to help you steady your hand," Syd said already knowing she was right handed.
"Those two bumps above the muzzle and above the slide are your sights and they'll help you aim. The two should be lined up at closely as possible." Syd put down her gun and went over to correct her posture, "Shoulders down and relaxed. There. Now aim and shoot."

"Thank you." Sophie closed one eye and took aim.

((oh, i'm so sorry! maybe you could come in, too. ) A wave of dizziness swept over Sophie. She staggered back and shook her head. It cleared but when she tried to take aim again, it struck her so hard that she dropped the .22. All Sophie could remember before she fell into unconsciousness was someone shouting her name.
