*Anneke sobbed her heart out, perched on the narrow ledge high above the hallways of the opera house, running a hand through her tangled curls.*
Now I'll need to find a new teacher...Raoul will never speak to me again.
*Of course by now Anneke had heard the rumours of the Angel of Music, the Opera Ghost who had haunted the Opera in former years.*
Perhaps he would teach me, if I go to find him...
*Anneke stared down into the hallway, her tears still falling into the open space below, considering descending into the bowels of the opera house as sobs continued to shudder her small frame.*

Rose had been wandering the upper levels of the Opera, excersizing her natural curioustiy, when she heard a quiet sob. Disregarding the stories of the ghost in the opera, She followed the noise to the attic. She was incredibly surprised when she found the Daae' girl crouching, tears streaming down her face, and her curly hair tangled. Rose's emerald eyes softed as she kneeled down next to her, not wanting to startle the girl* "Are you alright?"

*Anneke gave a small cry of surprised alarm until she saw the redheaded girl come into the light nearby. She relaxed slightly, and swiped a sleeve over her damp eyes, which were not puffy nor reddened by her crying spree--if anything they were washed and seemed all the brighter for it.* "I-it's n-n-nothing," *she mumbled, trying to catch her breath between sobs.* "N-n-nothing i-important, anyh-ho-o-ow. I-I'm being s-silly o-over s-something st-stupid." *She hiccuped.*

*Rose's face softed and she kneeled down next to Anneke* "oh, a doubt anything that could send you up here in tears could be silly" *she said*

*Anneke bit her lower lip gently.* Best not to tell her everything all at once-- *Anneke had learnt to be cautious, and in the orphan asylum, privacy was often set at nought, making her guard this her precious secret all the more carefully in her new-found state of being allowed to carry on things of a personal nature in relative secrecy.* Even so, if he does not already hate me, doubtless he will do as much if I let word get round that he had allowed himself to be taken in for even a moment by a penniless strumpet of a girl at the opera. *Anneke smiled carefully through her tears at the kind girl.* "Oh, just growing pains, I suppose. For the first--for the first time in my life...I feel..." *Anneke collected herself for a moment.* "There is a boy...a man..." *Her voice dropped to a whispered hush.* "He is the first to make me feel...a woman... And I'm falling, I am suddenly falling, And my story Is older than the stars...Suddenly falling I can feel myself falling... Down into this Madhoise Of love..." *Anneke sighed and fell silent.*
((What good Sue doesn't butcher any songs they get their hands on? ^__^))

*Anneke sighed.* "Please excuse me, Mademoiselle. You're very kind, but I need to be alone..." *Anneke swung down the steps and left the building.*
