*Oh! That was nice too. Lark froze only for a moment in recognition of the change, but it didn't seem bad. Nice actually. There it was again, that word. But he was and she couldn't resist it. Giving the tiniest of nods, almost like she was confirming something to herself, she leaned gently against him, feeling him pressed softly against her as she held him a touch tighter and found his lips again.*

*Jake's head spun as he wondered just what she might be like if he had her in his bed. Judging from her shy eagerness in kissing him, he could only imagine.*
A wild cat.
*He hummed against her lips, pressing himself harder against her for a final moment before he drew back, stepping away.*
"Enough," *he muttered, trying to grin.* "Any longer n' I think we'll both be goin' down a road we ain't ready to travel."

*Lark stumbled forward as he pulled back, her eyes opening slowly and her chin still upturned in mid-kiss.*
"Oh..." *She swallowed, blinking. Road? What road? Her mind was still buzzing and all she knew was he was too far away now.*
"Did I do something wrong?" *She asked meekly.*

*Jake leaned forward, brushing his lips across her cheek to whisper hotly in her ear.*
"You're too much of somethin' right," *he whispered, grinning as he turned to duck out of the stall.*

*That tingle shot through her again at his words. But if it was true, why was he leaving? She peeked out after him.*
"So, you just want me to wait here then?" *She queried gently, obviously confused about what the plan was until the rain stopped.*

*Jake chuckled, then reached into a box on a shelf, turning to toss Lark a currying brush.*
"Make yourself useful, then."
*He took his own brush and went into a dun gelding's stall to brush him down.*

*Well, at least he didn't have her cleaning stalls. She smiled as she caught the brush and found a grey mare install next to his. Content to help and have something to do, she greeting the horse gently and started to brush her, whispering softly to her all the while.*

*Lark's head shot up at the new voice. An unfamiliar one. It took her several moments to realize how she was dressed and she frowned. She peeked out of the stall, trying to figure if she could make it back to the other room with her clothes. It was an awfully long way.*

*Kip had been jogging through the barn but ground to a halt as Lark caught his eye. His jaw dropped a little and he shifted from one foot to the other.*
"...ma'am," *he said, nodding a little as he stared at her.*

*Busted, Lark did what she could to look confident and not like it was a strange thing for her to be here and in men's clothing.*
"Howdy." *She smiled gently and tilted her head to him, then quickly ducked back in the stall under the guise of continuing to groom the horse.*

*Kip followed her into the stall with an utter lack of guile, fascinated.*
"...are--are you new here?"

*Lark looked up in surprise, her plan obviously thwarted. Clearing her throat, she turned to him with a smile.*
"I...I'm kinda on loan."
*She set down the brush and wiped her hands, offering him one.*
"Bonnie."

*Kip took her hand, but didn't quite get around to shaking it. He just stood there holding it looking a little bit simple for a moment before he let go, grinning at her.*
"Bonnie. I'm Kip."
