*Dorian's unusually beautiful face became stony.*
"Exactly," *he said in a dangerous voice.*

*She smiled and made it seem as if nothing dark had passed between them, though she stored the memory in her mind, in case it came in handy later.*
"Well, Marguerite dies in the end and leaves him alone, so I suppose it would be no fun if you didn't have anyone to spend eternity with. She's a bit materialistic too, all that singing about jewels. And then she kills her baby. I don't know what would posess a girl to kill her baby, no matter who the father was."
*She said, remembering the plot from Faust.*

*Dorian nodded, now wary of her.*
"That is indeed inexcusable," *he said shortly.*

*She thought for a moment.*
"Back to the subject of operas, I'd really like it if they were performing Les Miserables, but that's a bit too modern for their tastes."

"Les Miserables? I wasn't aware that it had been adapted to an opera."
*He contemplated leaving. He was not enjoying this conversation any longer.*
"I enjoyed the book though, even if it was long."

*She smiled mysteriously.*
"Well, they haven't exactly. The book? I had to skip the 100-page rants about the Battle of Waterloo. In-depth descriptions of military battles never interested me, even in history class. The Marius and Eponine plot is my favorite--in my book, i have all my favorite pages with them marked even though i play eponine and marius is now alive again."

*Dorian nodded*
"You ladies always seem to enjoy the doomed romances."

*She laughed at herself again.*
"Yes, I guess I am a little silly about that. Happy endings are infinitely more boring." *she said.* "Although it shouldn't be the woman who always dies first." *she said, recalling all of her favorite stories about doomed lovers.*

*Dorian shrugged*
"Romeo died first..."

"Oh. right. I forgot about him. Though Juliet pretended to die, which was rather silly of her. I always thought that she just should have run away with him after their wedding night." *She thought for a moment. This conversation was infinitely boring now that they were both being merely civil.*
"I think I have to go now. I'll see you around, and I'll try to tell you if I'm performing anytime soon."
*She turned to go, letting her hips sway a bit more than was necessary for walking in these boots, and a bit more than was comfortable, in regards to the corset.*
"Stupid 19th century clothing..." *she muttered to herself.*

*Dorian watched her go, amused at her attempts to look inviting. He'd have to keep an eye on her- What had she said?*
What on earth could that mean?
*He shrugged it off for now, and resumed peoplewatching.*
