Alexander studied him closely, carefully.
"No," he murmered. "You are not he."
Smiling a little, he bowed.
"My name is Alexandros."

*stays quiet, alternately observing the others and fiddling with her crocodile teeth* ((I just had a visual of Bonnie-Marie actually WITH crocodile teeth...)) Darren smiled naughtily. "Aren't we the fancy one? Where are you from, and do all the men there bow so prettily?"

((*giggles furiously* That's an amazing image))
Alexander smiled.
"I come from Macedonia, although I have hailed from as far as Asia. As for the other men..." he shrugged.
"Royalty is trained as such, and nobility as well."

Darren looked enthralled. "Macedonia? That's fascinating..." He propped his elbow on the banister. "What brings you here, handsome?"

((*snorfles* Darren KILLS me. He's so flamboyantly gay!))
Alexander looked thoughtfully at him.
"I am here to recover what is mine," he said simply.
"Why are you here?"

Darren raised an eyebrow at Alexander's cryptic comment. "I'm here... oh, God knows why. I wanted to see Paris. I don't think anyone really has a good reason for coming here."
He paused, then leaned in as if for some juicy gossip. "So, what's this whajimacallit you've got to recover?"

((*cracks up* He is so very like some of my gay friends. I feel like I'm with Drew. Or Christien.))
Alexander considered, then said, "He is my agape--my philoalexandros."

Alexander frowned.
"I believe your term would be...companion. A friend. Only more."
"It is difficult to explain."

Darren's eyes gleamed knowingly. "Oh, no, I think I understand you perfectly."
He sidled slightly closer. "So this... friend, if you want to call him that... have you really got your heart set on finding him, then?"

Alexander smiled in amusement.
"Yes and no...I don't even know if he's here."

Darren forced a sympathetic expression onto his face. "Oh, that's a shame." He paused and eyed Alexander. "So, you busy tonight?"

Alexander blinked.
"Very little, I fear. Why?"

Darren smiled. "Maybe you could come round my place for drinks, a bite to eat. I'm sure even you have to eat."
