As time went by, Yaoya's powers grew stronger. At first, it terrified her, as she had no idea just how much more powerful they would get--or if it would consume her. Still, she knew the most important thing in regards to them was to learn how to control it. As long as she could keep it from raging out of control like it had a few times in the past, she could at least feel some kind of peace about it, even if it wasn't a perfect peace. So she would train herself, sometimes a bit too hard, and always asking advice from Aideen. Yaoya could hardly find the words to tell her friend just how much she meant to her--having around someone that understood made a huge difference to Yaoya.
So it was that Yaoya was in her own special practice tent, treated with a fire-retardant material so it wouldn't catch fire by accident (the last thing she wanted was to destroy the circus, her home in Paris). She whirled a tendril of flame around her like a blazing ribbon, her graceful movements making it seem like a dance.

Aideen had snuck in to watch and had been in there for about 10 minutes.
She'd been in mourning for what seemed like a lifetime and although each day was easier to manage, she still wore black.
The time she got to spend with Yaoya was a lift in the storm that was her mind.

When she paused to catch her breath, she saw Aideen and smiled.
"Hello! I didn't see you there!"

"Been here about 10 minutes" she smiled, edging away from the shadow she'd been hiding in "you're really quite good you know."

"I get so caught up sometimes...oh! And thank you. I've been learning from a great teacher." She said, giving Aideen a wink.

"Well I'm sure whoever that is, is very grateful."
She flicked her index finger and produced a small flame that quickly flew in to the air and took the shape of a bird "Edur likes birds."
It flew around Yaoya in a circle before dissipating in to smoke "How was your date?"

She watched the bird with envy. She couldn't form any shapes yet, just tendrils or bursts in the air.
"Oh! It went well. I got cook for someone who wasn't me." She said, smiling brightly.

Aideen raised her eyebrow "Is he a gentleman?"
Back in her days in the Paris underground, she knew a lot of gentlemen and she only prayed the Grayson boy was a true one.

"Hmm? Well, yes. He's really nice and works hard."
She frowned a moment.
"But it sounds like his parents make him work too hard."

"Forgive me for sayin, but a good work ethic sometimes doesn't hurt. When you're young though all work seems hard, especially if you're American and young, which he is."
She chuckled.

"Oh, I know," she said, smiling a bit.
"It just seems like maybe he's not happy."

"That's unfortunate, I know the Graysons are always running hot" she smiled "I've never seen any of them outside of their uniforms."

"I saw him." She said, then reddened when she realized how that sounded.
"Wearing normal clothes!"

Aideen laughed "I'm sure it was a sight to see."

"Well, he got to look like how he wanted to," she finished sheepishly. "And that matters a lot."
